I have an 80 Series Kenmore washer, model number 110.29892990 that will not spin. The washer makes noise like it wants to spin but does not. The water is still draining. Replace or repair? If repair, how?

Check the coupling between the motor and transmission. If bad replace for about $35. If it is OK, see if the transmission will turn both ways by hand after unplugging unit first. If it won't trans is probably band and an expensive repair. Consider replacing unit
