I have a hampton bay ceiling fan. I droped the remote and cannot get it to work again! It is only controlled by the remote. The light was on when I droped the control and it is the only function working. Thanks, kingchicken

Check the battery and make sure it is secure.
Does the remote LED light up when you push the other buttons?
Yes the battery is secure and yes the LED light does light up when you push other function butons. Thanks, kingchickenQuote:

Sounds like the dip switches must have shifted. At the very least, make sure they are all firmly seated. If that doesn't work try Ballenger's answer.
Wait, we are still thinking.
It sounds like a receiver issue, however the fact that you dropped the remote caused the problem suggests that you should try a replacement remote first.
Does the fan have pullchains?
Thanks, I did by a new remote today and it fixed the problem! I will try not to drop this one!! Thanks, kingchicken
Proof that a remote LED can light and the remote still be faulty. Good to know.
