On the weekdays, my wife works late (comes home around 7-7:30pm) so I make dinner (and I happen to enjoy cooking). On the weekends we eat out. However, with this schedule my wife doesn't cook. Is it wrong for me to expect my wife to cook for us once in a while at least? The reason I'm asking is because we spend a decent of $$ eating out when it could be saved. Usually, I like to pay but she pays if I tell her I'm poor (usually after paying the monthly mortgage) which is nice of her. Lately, I've been feeling it would be nice to have a meal prepared by my wife instead of going out all the time. She basically more or less won't cook or the thought doesn't occur to her... instead she'll just ask me if I'm hungry which basically means "let's go out" and eat. So, last night I mentioned to her it would be nice if she cooked once in a while. She immediately said she couldn't on the weekdays and I know she rather eat out on the weekends which means I'm not getting anywhere with this situation in my head. Any suggestions on what can be done or should I just leave things the way they are and continue spending $$. Don't get me wrong. I like to go out to eat also but sometimes it would be nice if she cooked a hot meal and we ate at home. As I mentioned I enjoy cooking but not everyday. I will get burnt out.
