    Bryant Furnace Burner Malfunction
    Hi,
We have a 19 year old Bryant gas furnace with a hot surface pilot igniter. The problem is that the pilot lights when the thermostat calls for heat, and then lights the burners which shut down after 15 to20 seconds. It then relights and continues this cycle ten or twelve times before the will start. It seems to me that a sensor must be opening and closing the gas valve. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thank You,
    Lakewood

Not an expert in this field so stick around for the pros

Mine did the same... would cycle on and off... furnace seemed to think the gas wasn't being burned in a flame so itd shut off and recycle through the program again...

Cleaned the flame sensor with some fine sandpaper to see if it was just some corrosion/grime and it seemed to do the job. Expected to have to replace it but so far its worked just fine...
