Dyson DC07 Has very poor suction when trying to vacuum carpet - $400 P.O.J.
 When I am vacuuming the carpet I can feel debris hitting my feet, that vacuum is not picking up well at all. I have checked for obstructions and there are none, I can feel the end of the hose in the head and there is suction there but it doesn't pickup well across the floor bar. What's the deal? Any thoughts?

You need a new internal hose which is located on the bottom of your unit. You can replace it yourself. It is roughly 6 inches long and connects to the foot for suction and pushes the head to the floor. All you do is pull on side with a rubber coupler of the unit and twist the hose off the foot assy.

I know your note was from 2007 or so, but I am just now seeing it. I have a Dyson DC07 with the same problem. Did yours get solved?
