Problems with Landlords Daughter
Ok here is my situation;
First off I would like to say is that According to my room mate the new landlords never gave him a new copy of the lease with his sig on it at all. I have never been on the lease in the 15 years I have been living here,and NEVER had any problems with the last 2 landlords. I have always paid my friend $420 out of my SSI check a month,his rent is paid by a place called Conference Of Churches,wich comes out of his SSD check automatically. The last landlord never renewed the lease so its een word of month ever since.
Ok here is the reason why I am here;
This all happened sometime in Sept. the landlord just finished working on the 3rd floor,he then came back after a week and asked if we would like to move upstairs and the rent would stay the same,my friend wich is the main person of the place agreed at first,I agreed also. Well we started moving some stuff up stairs,my friend /roomate started to move some of his stuff like pots and pans and some of his clothes etc.And I have moved most of my stuff up stairs all I need now is help to move the heavy stuff like my desk,computer tables etc. and also my friends dresser,bed,couch etc.
Towards the end of Sept. like 2 weeks,for some reason my roommate started getting depressed,wouldn't do anything etc. then like 3 or 4 days later he took a Overdose of Adavin,he took like 30 pills or more,he woke me in the morning sometime by crashing and falling to the floor he was out of it,I didn't know of the overdose till the next morning,according to him he took it like 2 hours after I went to sleep.Well I called the ambulance and he had to go to the hospotial and had to stay in the psych ward for like 2 weeks.
After he got out,during the 4 weeks he was out the land lord asked about 4 different times if he wants to still move up stairs well those 4 different times he didn't give the landlord a good answer.On thurday the 20th Oct. the land lord came and asked a 5th time,he had the help ready and everything to help us bring the heavy stuff up stairs,well the 5th time my roommate still did not give a straight/right of mind answer,so the land lord said he would be back a few days later wich was a Saturday,well on Thursday the 20th Oct. a few hours later like maybe around 8pm the landlords daughter shows up with her husband.
She says that she wants all the stuff that we had moved upstairs back downstairs,I said to her that I thought William was the landlord and I told her that he said on Saturday that he will have help for us to move the rest of the stuff upstairs,well she says "i dont care what he/my father said,im the landlord! he's just a person that helps around here" then she asks "how long do ya need to have everthing moved back downstairs?" I said at least a week cause those boxes I have are heavy etc. she agrees. She told me that if I don't have the stuff downstairs by Thursday the 25th that she is going to get the Police here or the constable here. She also asked me if I was sleeping up stairs I said yes and I told her that her father didn't mind me sleeping up there and using the electricity,She says "i no longer want you sleeping up there! and if i catch the light on up stairs i will call the police." She also said that she is going to have Social Services come in and break the bond between my Friend and I. Then I said to her that you can't cause Social Services only deals with children or children that live at the residence. Wich of course niether I or my friend have any children. She said she can and she supposaly did it 4 other times with other people.During this time I finnaly just got sick of her threats and asked her to leave,I had to ask her like 5 times. At this time I didn't know my rights so I didn't know I could call the police to have her removed.
She is also claiming that her father is sick of me,wich I can't really believe that cause I've been real nice to him,and been trying to work with him and my friend.And he's always seems very friendly to me and my roommate when he comes here.Like shakeing hands,smileing etc. all friend like. Well she finnaly leaves the apartment then goes upstairs wich I don't know why.
Well after she left maybe 15 20 min later,I realized she kind of scared me with all those threats, so I call the non emergency police communications place,and explained to them what I told you guys above, I told them she is only the daughter and not the landlord wich is true. They told me to not worrie and they think she is just trying to scare me (wich it did :( ) so after the conversation with them they told me to call the police desk and explain my situation and he said the same thing,not to worrie and to listen to William wich is the landlord. He also recommended that I go to the magistrate,I go to the magistrate and they also said don't worrie about her. They also said I should go down to the court house in the records department and get a copy of the deed. I did ask them if it was possible for me to get a Public Defender but they said at this time there really is no reason to. Also all party's told me if she comes back I should call the police right away and to NOT let her in cause she has no business to be on the property.Another thing all partys told me to do is to not move anything from the 3rd floor and to wait till the landlord shows up. By the way the landlord never showed up on Saturday guess he's waiting till the 25th Oct. cause of his daughter?
A day later on Friday I had to court commit my friend,I had to call crisis and they picked him up cause he was laughing for no reason,I mean he would just burst out laughing for no reason,then he started talking about Death,about needles,he became unpredictable,he was scareing me. (he was doing this for about 3 weeks it just got worse and worse) He was just out of it again but he didn't take a overdose,he wouldn't do a thing,he wouldn't take a shower,wouldn't take his meds for his mental condition,he would barely eat,barely sleep.by the way he was doing all that during the above when the landlord and daughter came. He was out of the hospital only for about 3 weeks.
BTW I did get that copy of the Deed and I found out the daughter isn't on it at all.Only William and his Wife Beatrice,the daughter's name is Sandra.
Im thinking on charging her with trespassing and getting a restraining order on her and her husband just in case he gets any ideas. Can I also charge her husband with tresspassing and get a restraining order on him? He didn't say a word through all this when she was here.
So guys overall do I need to worrie? I am a little afraid that if I have to have the daughter arrested I may have problems with the landlord,but I'm not going to just sit back and take this abuse from her.
Sorry I forgot to mention I live in Pennsylavania.

Ok yesterday,Tuesday Oct. 24th 2007
My land lord William came by,I asked him if he wants me to move the stuff from upstairs 3rd floor back downstairs 2nd floor. At first he said yes and I agreed,then I remembered I had to give him my room mates sisters telephone number to him,and I said to him if he needs the go ahead to move stuff upstairs like he wanted he could call her. I then asked again if he wanted me to move the stuff from the upstairs and then he proceeds to say No and to wait till Thursday Oct. 25th.I was told by either Crisis or the magistrate (I can't really remember whio)that if the sister is willing to take the responsibility she would be able to give the permission. Like I said in my other post the landlord is basically waiting on my roommate's word to continue the move.
Well today Wednesday Oct. 24th,I woke up to a knock at the door,now the guy that came to day claimed to be a worker of the Landlord and he is saying that if I don't have stuff moved out by tomorrow he will have the police here and he will have me kicked out. He is also stateing that the Landlord wants me on the Lease(wich I agree) but this guy is also claiming that I have to now Pay the landlord the rent and not to my roommate anymore. The rent is already getting paid by my roomate's case worker at Confrence Of Churches,I told him.And that I'm not going to pay another 600 dollars when the rent is already being paid.Thats just insane I told him.
When this guy left I found a note on the door stateing I have to have all my stuff downstairs by Thursday and it was signed by Sandra the landlords daughter,when I left the building to go to the magistrate to ask questions I found another note on the door stateing the same thing but it wasn't signed by anyone.
While at the magistrate this time around they said they couldn't give any advice expect to ask a Attorney, :( I can't afford one,I can't afford 400 bucks a hour or what ever it would cost. I hear Attorney's are expensive.
I pay my roommate each month $420.00 now if I sign this Lease and according to this guy that came today I will have to pay the $625.00 or $675.00 rent each month,I'm not exactly sure what the rent is cause my friends caseworker always took care of this in the past,I need to ask my friend again what it is.
If it is true what this guy is saying about paying the landlord the rent,I can't :( ,if I did that,it would be my whole SSI check.I only get about $637.00 each month.
I was at ease for awhile cause of all the advice you guys and the police and the magistrate told me but now I'm so scared,I don't know what to do,I'm about to break down and cry,I'm so lost PLEASE help me Please?
P.S. Are most of you guys Lawers/Attorneys? Just curious. Really wish I could hire one of you guys but I can't afford one of yas,please don't be mad. :(
