Yup! :)

I'm warning you though, I might be absent for 2 weeks as from the 26th. Going on a cruise, on the 'Costa Romana'. The tickets had some 25% off or something like that, I'm not quite sure, but it was a good deal. My family never got on one, and I can already see that it'll be all fun! I hear that there is a computer room in there, so, I'll try to check in now and then :)

Well enjoy your cruise if we don't talk before then :)

I do hope my internet stays up at least until the 26th

And oh, it's been 3 weeks now that a monkey here strays (is that the proper verb?) around the neighbourhood... been entering the house once, put a mess with the perfume bottles of my mum, tearing a book cover from my room... We called the police, they informed the wild life company and they said that they'll take care of it. We didn't hear anything for the next 5 days or so, concerning the wild life or the monkey, so we thought that the monkey was taken care of... but no, I saw it today eating fruits... :(

albear
Dec 22, 2010, 12:25 PM
I understood what you meant after reading further

'theres been a stray monkey wandering round the neighbourhood'

Lol lazy wildlife people
Just curious but what kind of monkey is it?

Unknown008
Dec 22, 2010, 12:31 PM
Ah! Thanks for that! :D

It's like an ordinary chimpanzee to me...

Very much like this one:

Well, it seemed tamed at first sight... and guess what? One of the new neighbours (been here for a year now I think) called him and he came to her! She said they'd go dancing while my other neighbour (who just clearned a plot of land next to our house to make some cultivations) was freaking out.

Once or twice, we tried to shoo it off the yard/house, and it seemed as if it could leap and bite >.< And my poor dog tries hard to follow it on trees... but of course, it can't climb. Once, it got quite high (50 cm off the ground) and poor her, she was trembling like a leaf just as she looked down

There was one in the last couple years of a pet Chimp that turned on its owner... chewed her face off and if memory serves me right rippers her arm off. She died of the injuries about a year later. Don't remember the names or details... but remember the indicent.

Monkeys or apes may seem cute when they are younger... but they all get older and really are wild animals... that are VERY strong compared to humans.

Gosh I am tired. This week has been killing me. I had a total break down Tuesday night. Just came home and cried. Tired, stressed and broke. I am better now. But seemed like every day I had to buy one more thing for another person. Then I find out about this big office party at the new place I had to cook for. Not to mention I get home so tired I can't even eat so I lost weight. This morning I was out of bed at 3:00am to wrap some last minute gifts of my sons. How crazy. I was in bed and couldn't stop thinking of when the heck I was going to get it done. So I just got up and did it. Now its done. Today I have a bottle of wine and the hustling is over and done with. Phew.

I miss you guys! Jeez my old job was so laid back. This new place allows no internet. Well that they know of. Today I watched the office trouble maker actually put a person on hold, she typed a response on her instant messenger then picked the phone back up. I was shocked. Speachless.

After these weeks there I am not so sure it's the place for me. I can't even begin to explain the issues. Not to mention I am not even doing the job I was hired for. I was so excited. I thought I found a new home there. Now I am barely hanging on. Help! Some one here told me not to get to happy just yet. I can't remember but you were right.

Awesome for you adam.

Today was a small change of events. Last night at dinner I had decided in my head I wasn't going in this morning. But of course I did. I hate being a quitter. So I go in. I then tell my boss my exact thoughts. I even used the "f" word on purpose in one spot. He repeated it in total agreement. In fact I even told him I wanted to quit every day and spoke of it every day. Well long story short he was shocked I saw what I saw. No one normally sees things like I have. Which is another long story. By the end of the day he had asked me to please hang on he is making changes. We will see these changes. I truthfully think he is the problem to some extent and the changes will not follow through. But he asked me more then once to not give up. I have to give him that.

Ah, if this contains things that can embarrass people, I understand. I thought that we'd be having some fireworks on the ship but no, just a countdown and a display of the ship's chef of his masterpieces with fruits, veggies, bread and all that.

There was a bunny made of fruits, a turtle with bread, a crocodile with bread, several different flowers with fruits, mickey mouse with water melon and other fruits. The show on that night was awesome! Everyone from the entertainment team was in the show, plus other members of the crew.

This was in Seychelles, the road, the road, the 'Big Ben', the market and a beach (The name was Takamaka I think).

http://p1cture.me/images/14399358307322400931.png

This one is the theatre of the ship viewed from one side, and the last is a ravioli made of some algae. First time ever I eat ravioli.

The dinner was awesome! The other meals, though lacked variety in my opinion. Besides eating, I was playing cards, watching the night show in the opera, playing table tennis, playing babyfoot, visiting the islands, playing video games either on my DS console or on the iPad a kind man lent us, walking around the ship, etc. Anyway, sheer relax time :p

Those are some pictures up to now (that I merged in some big pictures. I hope they kept their quality). I'll bring more as they come :)

This is the Costa Romantica (I spelt it wrong the previous time :o) and it does only the Indian Ocean, until next time, it'll be renovated. Then, it'll be the Costa Serena which will take the Indian Ocean. There are a little more than 15 ships in this line if I remember well.

And the funny thing is that those pizzas are meant for one person. They were about 10 inch in diameter and when we ordered two pizzas for 4 kids (me included), the waiter eyed us strangely. For my part, I ate a great deal on dinner for I really liked the food and was still full at midnight :o

Oh yes I can picture them. I am sure I could eat a whole on myself. I have a healthy appetite for a girl my size.
We checked in to a cruise for our honeymoon but never went. Just decided against it at the last minute for reasons I can't remember. Just as well the wedding tired us out so it would have been work to vacation.

There is only one issue now... The air conditioning on board maybe had something wrong with it. One of the people we went with (friends) just got admitted to clinic today. The doctor initially said it was Legionella (or something like that) but hopefully, it wasn't it, but a pneumonia. Anyway, that does seem contagious and many more people got coughs, but not as bad as to go to the clinic. I hope things will be all right.

If it were me, I'd blame the air conditioning and the icy cold beverages given at meals.

I myself started taking room temperature water sometime on the 2nd week, taking tea with honey and lemon on mornings and stopped on ice creams and sorbets :(

Well that's no way to end a perfect vacation. How are you all feeling? Fine I hope. Not good for the reputation of the cruise line though.

Unknown008
Jan 11, 2011, 09:23 AM
That is the main 'bugger' of the trip. I'm fine for the time being, no coughing but only a tiny nearly unnoticeable sore throat and some phlegm in the morning. I'm eating fruits as much as I can, nothing cold. My mom will take some sample from our throats for testing sometime in the week, and we'll take medicine if necessary.

Jan 11, 2011, 09:32 AM
Well good luck with that. Seems as though if it were serious you would feel something by now. But I am no doctor that's for sure. Just saying.

My husband just had over 10 days off work doctors orders. He had bronchitis and it wasn't good. It was getting worse before it was getting better. He went back to work last night and came home fine. So he must be good to go. It was iffy since they still allow smoking in his job.

Unknown008
Jan 11, 2011, 09:45 AM
Ouch, I don't like cigarette smoke or cigar smoke at all! I was glad that smoking was not allowed in the cards room.

Good luck for your hubby too! I may be a little paranoid about this disease as I just learned about this friend in clinic. It could very well only be a cold, well, I do hope so :o

Well normally smoking is no longer allowed here in any public buildings and sometimes not even on the premis at all. But he works in a casino on an indian reservation. They live by there own rules. So smoking is allowed every where still. I hate it. He comes home and has to hang his suit in the entry way just to air it out for a bit. We don't smoke so we notice it more.

Hi everyone.

I'm just stopping in for a beating.

I went the whole day running around like mad, getting my stuff done, excited about painting and putting new flooring in my bedroom. Then at dinner we were all talking about doing something special this weekend. I suggested skating. Sydney has never been. Jared has been 3 times, the first was when he was 2 years old. It was on New Years eve. So we started talking about that, because it's been over 10 years since he first went skating.

He asked me how I remembered he was 2. I said "Because we went skating that year to get our minds off things. Your Opa was in the hospital, and I needed to do something different so we could forget for a while". That's when I looked at the calendar, and damnit, I went the whole day without realizing the date. January 12, the day my dad died 10 years ago.

Just need to say it out loud.

RIP Vati.

Diabetes is auto immune disease, so when you get a hit with something like this, it is hard to recover quickly. I am diabetic too, one metformin a day and just got a good bill of health from my doctor at my six months check up. I am happy about that. Unfortunately, a lot of my clients are diabetics and having trouble in old age with renal failure, dialysis, etc. but only because when they were a bit younger, diabetes wasn't treated or dia gnosed the same way.

Yes, to both of you and good advice bella about the DM. I had answered a post a week ago about this and antibiotics. Doctors in my area here are very cautious of prescribing antibiotics or cough medicine for pneumonia, and TB is on the rise again. There was a real epidemic in the martimes l00 years ago and patients were sent to the mountains for fresh air and sleeping outdoors. That sort of 'natural medicine' is still prescribed after all this time.

Stringer has his finger on his treatment plan, don't you string.

I am sure you have heard enough of this today, sorry.

Many new members are turned off by the fact the we aren't another "anything goes site". And that is what makes this place special. Adult activities are discussed but in general the site is rated PG-13. In my opinion.

Hello everyone! :)

Well, speaking of her, if she was here, she'd pull up her noodle whip and whip our sheriff for being bad and at the same time, put one of her smileys she always used...

I hope you're feeling better Stringer. Fighting smoking is hard, but not impossible. I know you can fight it :)

I can't seem to shake this one Bella. Thank you dear for caring, I'll beat it.

Quite frankly I loved her very much as a very good friend. She was honest, sincere, spoke her mind, we clicked quickly. I admired her very much.

She was American, moved to Germany with her husband in the service and stayed. She missed the US a lot. She had a rough time after the divorce (a tough one) but she was a survivor and a very intelligent person.

I spoke with her on the phone several times and I learned a lot from this very special person. She was the kind of person that no one can replace, to me anyway.

Again, Chery, I miss you a lot my very dear friend.

What bothers me is that her daughter belongs to Facebook and she probably also received this message... :(

Actually I';ll just post it here, I'll give you the answer I think it is, and you can tell me if it's right or not...

Which of the following biochemical pathways does NOT require oxygen?

Glycosis
Matrix Reactions
Electron Transport system
Fermintation
Glycosis and fermintation

I think it is Electron Transport system...

Unknown008
Jan 16, 2011, 10:59 AM
Okay, that is beyond my reach, but the one I'm 100% sure is:
Fermentation does not require oxygen.

Or can there be multiple answers? If so, I think I'll be able to answer all with some research

Aurora_Bell
Jan 16, 2011, 11:06 AM
As far as I know, it's only one answer. Why fermentation? Fermentation does not necessarily have to be carried out in an anaerobic environment. For example, even in the presence of abundant oxygen, yeast cells greatly prefer fermentation to oxidative phosphorylation, as long as sugars are readily available for consumption.

But I do think you are right about the answer not being Electron Transport system, only because respiration is where electrons are donated to an exogenous electron acceptor, such as oxygen, via an electron transport chain.

Oi I am NEVER going to get the hang of this. :(

I'm sure if I did my A levels in Biology, I'd have no problem answering her question, since there are processes I never heard about. I did some research and it turned out well.

Other than that, I'm trying my hand at some pixel art, it's working with the little tiny squares that make up everything on the screen at a small scale and zoom out to get a good quality image.

Bored to death actually... Slow day at the office. Have a lingering case of Bronchitis from the wicked nasty cold I got a few weeks ago so the coughing fits isn't helping at all.

I don't take anything for my arthritis... it only bothers me if I'm on my feet for hours or when the weather makes radical swings. I've got a very high pain threshold. And a very low tollerance to most pain meds. Meaning most don't do much or cause me severe side effects, worse than the pain itself.

Dealt with the last operation I had with NO post op meds because of the problems I had as a result of meds from the previous surgery. WHich either shut down my bowels... or gave me hives... besides doing nothing for the actual pain in the first place. Yeah... went through 5 or 6 and none were worth the effort of taking... including Percs which gave me the worst problems.

My Late father had that for years... Correct term is osteoarthritis... right? Nasty thing... did a real job on his ankles and knees. They had to fuse his ankles and remove bone growth it got so bad.

THe Doctor never told ne exactly what kind I had... it turned up during a presurgical MRI I had... and explained certain pains I had for a while before then.

But mines not progressed far enough to require pain meds of any type. And if I'm lucky it won't for a lot more years. I'm 49, was diagnosed 10 years ago... and its only gotten a little worse in that time. From my perspective anyway based on what I feel.

Stringer, what is your doc saying in all of this? Is he telling you why you haven't been able to get over this? Is there something you can do or stop doing to boost your immune system? Did your doc say anything about the DM? Have they done any blood test to see if there is any further infection? There has got to be something they are over looking.
