And in reply to Bear's post, yes, the DSi can connect directly to the net, like a mini laptop :)
Explore Nintendo DSi - Discover the many features of the portable game system, then dive deeper. (http://www.nintendodsi.com/meet-dsi-explore.jsp)

Ya I noticed the internet and camera thing when I was trying to compare. But he is only 6 so he doesn't need that. But then again if I am going to invest in it I should get the better one. But I wasn't sure. Really he doesn't need all the fancy things so maybe I will stick with just the cheaper. Wasn't so sure. Big price difference!

Aug 23, 2009, 09:27 AM
Really? How much? In Mauritius, the DSi is not yet commercialised (always a year or two late on everything :()

Aug 23, 2009, 09:31 AM
Well there is a DSi package, not sure what's in it, but it was about $169.00. Compared to just a DS its about $80 more I believe if I checked it out right.

Aug 23, 2009, 09:47 AM
Well I was guessing the prices went down since a new one came out. I don't know. Of course I am only starting to look so maybe I was looking at the right thing.
What's the difference between the DS and what bear said, the elite?

Lol, sounds like a plan :D

Aug 23, 2009, 09:52 AM
Lol! Not elite! :p
First came the Nintendo DS, then the Nintendo DS Lite, then (actually the latetest, as far as I know), the Nintendo DSi.
The DS, dual screen, microphone, wireless included, touch screen, DS and GBA slots.
The DS lite, same as DS, but additional features, contrast adjustable and 'slimer'
The DSi, same as DS lite, except there's no GBA slot, but there is camera, you can connect to the net, you have a slot for Mini SD, you can record sounds (songs, etc)

This is a DS
http://screenburnfest.com/2008/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/nintendo-ds-lite.jpg
This a DS lite, (which you can get in many different colours :) )
Unky said before that his DS has a port for Game Boy advanced cartridges, I don't think the DS lite has them, though one again I'm not entirely sure on that :)

If you can see well Bear, you'll find a rectangle outline on the base of the DS lite, which you posted. I've got a DS lite actually, not only DS ;) and mine is black. When you close the console, the upper cover is dark blue, and I love it the way it is :)

Good idea.
Hubby and I were married 3 years before I got pregnant. We planned it that way.
I always wanted kids, knew I'd have them. To each their own. If it's not for you then it's not for you.

For those of you about to enter the castle, enter with caution. I have a wonderful story.
I eat wings a lot here at work and junk food, whatever I can get delivered. Well I had a bad of garbage on the floor Friday with some leftovers and stuff in it but I was running late and just wanted to get home. I twisted the top shut and left it for this morning rather then bringing it to the dumpster. Well this morning I stop to the store for a yummy bacon and egg sandwich. I was starving. I come in turn the lights and whatever on. Breakfast in one hand while I bend over with the other to grab the garbage. I had some things to put in it and then I was going to get rid of it. I untwist it and there were hundreds of 'effing maggots!! I jumped about 10 feet in the air because they fell all over the floor. I dropped my breakfast and nearly threw up what I was able to eat. I just froze. Gross! I had to wait for the guy I work with to get here because I was not touching that bag! He got rid of it for me and under the bag there was a swarm of them just crawling all over. I vacuumed. Don't know if they will die in the vacuum bag or not. But I don't see them anymore. Oh my god I had never seen maggots in garbage before. What a way to start my work week!
Ha ha Sorry for you all eating breakfast, lunch or dinner. Heee heee

Actually I felt so bad for my son. He is a great athlete and a good ball player, but he was having a bad day at the plate. The whole thing was a tournament to determine the championship for the 'E' Division in slow pitch softball.
It all started at 11 am and they kept winning, 10 teams involved. They eliminated all the teams went to the final game and lost. Then since they had not lost up to this point, they had one more chance with one more final game. Were ahead by 2 runs until the last inning... lost by one run. We stayed the whole time... nine hours and that sun was HOT!
He was so depressed, he plays second base and he had made an error that gave them the winning run, my heart went out to him. But he had all the girls and his wife hugging him to make him feel a little better. Kid's a double for Tom Cruise.
I really felt bad because he and I have such a long history in baseball and football. I couched him for 14 years, he is damn good, and we took the DuPage County championship when he was 18. So, I really felt for him when he came up to me after the game and said 'sorry Pop, I tried.' Love that guy.

I couched him for 14 years,
Hmm maybe instead of couching him you should have coached him? Ha ha Just picking, sorry. Made me smile.
Well in the end it sounds like they still did amazing. Look how far the team went. I say its still a good job well done. But I know my heart would be sinking if it were my son out there. I would have cried big tears for him. I guess that's when the saying comes in its not always about winning. But isn't it sometimes?

Hmmmmm... I don't know if you have been following my thread/s about my spellcheck not working on AMHD... but this is an issue that is really frustrating me... a lot. I love you, but please don't go there... K? :)
You're right to a point, after a kid learns to 'play the game' and learns ro be a team player, get along with everyone... then they need to learn how to win... to me that is part of life...
I understand hon, learning all those things are very important, however so is learning how to be a winner also... life is short, why not give it your all and know the feeling of winning also.
Now, that being said, I am not a b*st*ard either, he is a compassionate man, a good husband a great father and I am very proud of him for that and I tell him that constantly.

No I have been reading your spell check issues. I am not a good speller either and I back space a lot. Funny just over the weekend I down loaded ispell, I guess that's what its called. It works on this so I installed it for my longer posts. Hopefully it's a safe program.
I understand where your coming from for sure as far as winning at everything. I just have to teach my son differently. He is such a perfectionist. Its terrible. He will be 6 next month and he has to have it perfect the first time or he gets so upset. No matter what it might be it has to be perfect. Which is great. But I am trying to make him understand things take practice and it doesn't have to be perfect to be good enough. Sometimes failing can open other doors for better things. But of course being as young as he is he doesn't understand my adult speeches. I give them anyway.

Actually I am not too bad of a speller, it's just that when I type my fingers do not always do what my brain is trying to tell them to do (quickly)... does that make sense?
As usual, we are on the same page with all this. I am just saying that they also have to know what winning is too. :)
I have some success with my company, however I lost two others that I had in the past, not all because of something I did or did not do... but I learned a lot in the process and I use it daily. Especially what I have learned over the years about people, not just business and sales.

Hey Stringer and Sunny!
Stringer, Inglorious basterds was actually a good movie. Pretty funny.
I myself like quentin and his movies. I do agree with saying he is mentally unbalanced though. He probably does need to see a therapist for his problems. I think he has a foot fetish as well. I have never seen his interviews though.
You will have to recommend a movie to watch.
Also What happened to the spell check bar on the AMHD website? I used to use it sometimes.
I am like Stringer, I can spell very well but sometimes my fingers get ahead of my brain and I slip up a time or two so please forgive me for any mistakes.

I'm car shopping right now.
My van is kaput. It's going to cost way too much to fix it, so I'm selling it as is then getting something smaller, used, for whatever I get for the van.
I hate car shopping.
My list of requirements, since I have to buy a car.
- 2001 or newer
- 6 cylinders.
- manual transmission.
- air conditioning.
- less then 150,000 km.
- less the $6000
I don't care what color it is, I don't care if it's pretty, I just want it to run well.
Is that too much to ask?
Maybe I should wait until winter, teach the dogs to pull a sled. :(

2005 Pontiac Sunfire coupe 2D
71,000 km
4 cylinder but I'll live with it
Manual transmission
Silver
Black interior
Air conditioning
There are also a few other bells and whistles.
The best part, it's only $4,450.00 and I think I can talk them down to $4,000.00.
Ya baby! Momma may have a new set of wheels. :)

It's okay. I really just need something smaller, reliable and cheap. ;)
Before I had my van I had a hot little cherry red Chevy cavalier 2D. It was a V6, manual transmission. That little thing sure could zoom around town. :)
I miss that car.
My van is, well, a van. :(
It's big, it's bulky, it seats 6 comfortably, could squeeze in 8. It's an automatic, which I hate and it has a pi$$y little engine.
It was a good vehicle when the kids were babies, but now they're old enough to get in and out of the car themselves, so I don't need a van anymore.
Hubby has a truck, so I don't need the van to haul stuff around either.
Yup, I'm getting that little Pontiac if I have to sell my body. :)

A million dollars is a lot of money Blacky.
I think I'd talk hubby into it if I ever got that offer.
After all, it's only one night, wouldn't mean anything to me and we'd be a million dollars richer.

Miss Katie Stam is quite a looker and from my town. Well now I just found it interesting that mary kay spices has a seasoning after her now. Haha.

Hey HH.
Just having a boring day. Waiting for quitting time.
What about you.

Aug 25, 2009, 11:33 AM
Me... I'm waiting for later...
I got myself a deal for a playstation2, 2 controllers, multi-system hud, and a game for $55, and a new computer monitor for $10. (not new, but new to me, my old one broke).
Obviously, I'm going to use the PS2 for gaming, and the monitor is for my eMachines (It's an eMachines monitor, even), it got a virus, and had to wipe it. Now, I'm going to use it for gaming! :)
I'm supposed to go do pickups at around 7pm PST.
But until then, I'm bored.
I'm still trying to get a job/gig/work/etc. (whatever you want to call it) with little luck. Nothing yet, but I've got some prospects, it just takes time to see if it'll pan out... I'm broke, ($1 left in my pocket after the above purchases) and I really need money! :(
Lol, are you sure, it's just a boring day?
Are you at work? Where do you work? I'm jealous! :p:rolleyes:

Aug 25, 2009, 11:37 AM
Wow. Good deal HH.
I thought you had just found a job? Or I guess you thought you did. Maybe I read wrong.
Yep I am at work. I am an office manager at a flooring store. But really there isn't much to do. We aren't super busy to start and I do the books and whatever. Takes about 10 minutes on Monday morning and I am done for the week. The payroll and all the tax crap is done from the other store so I am just sitting here looking pretty all day. Works for me.
HelpinHere
Aug 25, 2009, 11:43 AM
Aww... I want to look pretty!
I'm too busy peeling my sunburnings off to look pretty though...
Naah, did I ever say I found one?
I had an interview for something, but it was a scam. I've been hit up with LOTS of scams.
Posted an ad for "Manual Labor" with no luck, posted an ad for "Electronics Help" with no luck, posted an ad for "Tutor: All Subjects" and have a couple interests. All except one seem like scams, and waiting on a reply for that one.
As for a "job job" I have just one *real* job found in the last few days, and they replied to my reply asking for a resume. I sent that in, and waiting on a reply.
Other than that... basically nothing.

Aug 25, 2009, 11:51 AM

Hey sunny and HH.
Well Sunny. You know that huge huge stack of papers I had? Well it has still been a huge stack since this morning and haven't done anything for awhile. As far as the stack on my desk, well I have been staring at it all day. I have just been staring off into space for awhile lately.
I am still waiting for 5 to roll around.

I don't think you can handle my pay. I don't think you could handle my job either.
Yes Sunny, I think we both have it very rough.
My schedule at work:
8:00- Seperat a huge stack of papers into about 6 piles. Fax 1 to another office. Then set another one over to be entered into computer.
8:15- stare off into space. & check AMHD
8:45- Enter notes off paper into computer.
8:55- stare off into space & check AMHD
10:00- take a break
12:00- go to lunch
1:00- check AMHD and stare off into space.
1:30- think about doing more work.
2:30- Take a break
3:00- maybe do the rest of my work for the day then decide to check AMHD.
3:05- Continue to stay on AMHD.
5:00- Go home

Seriously?
Monday:
Whenever I show up between 830-900: Fill out the sales sheets for week and possible deposit slip. Finished by 9:15.
Then fill out my time sheet and fax it to the main store, do this for my paycheck. Done that by 920.
Remainder of day/week... answer phone, surf eBay, check out my Facebook to see if anyone likes me or not, check out AMHD.
All this occurs until Friday morning, then I get paid, leave here about 845, deposit any money for the store, deposit my personal check, might go shopping at Walmart or around town for me if I need to.
During the days from 12-1ish or 130ish I take a lunch and go to the gym. Then I come back and sometimes get delivery for lunch. Ha ha Most days after the gym I grab a beer and relax. Sometimes several drinks if the guy I work with starts drinking.
Lock the doors about 450, but we really close at 5.
Tough job huh?
I might have to file a random invoice. Very random.

Haha HH. I only take a half hour lunch and just sit around talking with the guys for another half hour. My job contains a lot of smartness with it too. You just have to be quick with numbers and quick on a computer. Most of the time I am sitting here bored with my feet kicked up on the desk or telling my boss how to spell something. I have a lot of time when I really have to think.

In reality I hate it here. I get so crazy bored and start cleaning and vacuuming and whatever. I would rather be busy any day. But its great I get my personal things done that I don't have time for at home.
We don't really have a business internet. We just have computers for fun basically. But I do use it for the banking and we have a tracking device on the vans I use sometimes.
So anyway.

Busy, yes, but don't want to do anything.
I just found out that my kids aren't going back to school after labor day weekend, they're going back on Monday!
So, things to do this week.
- Doctors appointment.
- school supply shopping
- zoo for Sydney's birthday
- birthday gift shopping.
- car selling
- car buying
- Dinner with friends from out of town
- birthday party
That's just the short list, there's more.
Someone shoot me! :(
On a bright note. The company I had the interview with is calling my references, so maybe I didn't do to badly after all.
The best part. My one reference, when asked for a story about a difficult situation I was in and how I handled it, decided to tell the story of my parents death, how I took care of my mother, took her to Germany because it was her final wish, dealt with her death 3 days later, etc. etc.
Apparently the person that called was in tears by the end of it.
I may just get a pity job! :)

I normally would Stringer, but they're hiring 50 people just for my position and then 300 nurses for the actual immunization portion of the job. They have a lot on their plate. I'm actually really surprised they called all my references.
I was thinking I'd give it another week, then email as it's less intrusive. I don't want to be the applicant that annoys the crap out of them by calling while their this busy. ;)
I'm getting a better feeling about the whole thing. My one reference basically told them they were idiots if they didn't hire me. The lady that called said she agreed. It's sounding promising. :)
Fingers crossed. That's what I'm doing now.

Good luck Alty. I bet you will get it for sure.
It can go both ways on calling about it. I like to call about a week after I apply to check on it and that is it. I had one guy call EVERY day to check on his application. Do you think I chose him as a hiring choice? Well, I think you can figure that one out.
Anyway peeps. I am out the door as well. I will talk to whoever is here in the morning.

She has been studying natural health for years and has a few qualification. She wants to start her own small clinic at home, turn one of the rooms into an office, like a consultation room and clients will come to her for a health advice and stuff. Its basically natural therapies where all the treatments are herbs and natural stuff
