Sings more faintly...

... Like a new born baby it just happens every day
I look inside myself and see my heart is black
I see my red door and it has been painted black
Maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts
Its not easy facing up when your whole world is black.

Now I've got to sing--one of the songs someone was singing jogged my memory (similar lyrics). Anyway, favorite song as a wee small child, & still absolutley love it...

There's a land that I see
Where the children are free
And I say it ain't far
To this land from where we are.

Take my hand, come with me
Where the children are free
Come with me--take my hand
And we'll live

In a land
Where the river runs free
In a land
Through the green country
In a land
To a shining sea

And you and me
Are free to be
You and me

Ice Ice Baby

Vanilla Ice Ice Baby!!!!!!

Thems fighting words.

Now why (in my whiniest voice) did you have to go and do that??

Now I need to open itunes and play some music to get that crap out of my head.

Here... what's in the "guys that sing" playlist?.

Hold, on, I'm coming - sam and dave
Have a little faith in me - john hiatt
Isn't no sunshine - al greene
Way down in the hole - five blind boys of Alabama
Cracked rear view - hootie and the blowfish
I thank you - zz top
Deliver me - sonia dada
Its all right - big head todd and the monsters
Malted milk - eric clapton
Devils and dust - springsteen
Remedy - black crowes
Suffragate city - david bowie
Who do you love - george thorogood
Play guitar - john (was he cougar) mellencamp
Boom boom boom boom - john lee hooker
Blue eyes crying in the rain - willie nelson
Sexual healing - marvin gaye
Love man - otis redding
Stranglehold - ted nugent
I will follow - u2
Be thou my vision - van morrison
Hot cop - village people

OK, so I added that last one in for gits and shiggles.

If that doesn't get rid of ice, ice baby, I'm going to memphis!

Oh yes.... I can't wait till this storm hits here tonight... it's goning to be sooo cool... thunder lightning....
Myth, You would love to be here! It's 1:30am & raining cats & dogs, literally! I opened the door & a wet cat flew in!! LOL. The thunder & lightening is so loud that I am going to have a cat (luckily not the wet one, a different one), an 89lb lab, 2 kids, a husband & myself in my bed. (thank goodness it's a king)! You would think it's the Grande Finale on the 4th of July out there. Well, I'm off to try to squeeze into my bed, wish me luck!!

Wow evry time I turn my back there are five more pages, will it ever end. I hope not. My grandkids are keeping me so busy I barely have time for coffee, so as soon as they finish lunch I have to come up with something else to amuse them with besides jumping on my belly welly. I ain't 25 no more but they think I'm a big kid(?) with nothing else to do but play. (opps they may be right) So just saying hello while I have a chance and start with out me if you have too.

When the grankiddies take their nappies, then maybe we can amuse everyone here with the Tal & Val show, whacha think, nice ring to it?

Go figure my 2 year old just passed out and the 5 year old wants to color, and I could use a nap but I don't trust the 5 year old with crayons (he thinks I look better with a mustache) wonder where he got that from, any how, The 5 year old never I mean never sleeps during the day so... I'll be back, have to draw a power ranger for him to color...

valinors_sorrow
Aug 26, 2006, 10:52 AM
Tal can draw.. Power Rangers even..? Impressive!

J_9
Aug 26, 2006, 11:05 AM
Ah, another one of Val's storms.

So sad.

Well, the chairs can stay where they are, but get the karoke mahcine inside before it gets wet.

Well, I looked over KPs guys that can sing play list. Pretty impressive I must say. But missing a few

Joe Cocker - You are so Beautiful
Sammy Johns - Chevy Van
Eric Clapton - You Were Wonderful Tonight
Blackfoot - Train Train
Gordon Lightfoot - If You Could Read My Mind Love

Oh, well, those are some of mine.

They don't want to get their head bashed in. That's why they swing so hard at the other guy! :p :p

Hi Myth. It will be over before you know it. I'm not sure if I have missed some information. Are these your first children? Excited would be an understatement. I was over the moon when my time came. Twitchy is a good adjective for a hurrican Val. In Ontario the last hurricane we had was in 1954. Well before your time. I was a very young child when it hit Toronto, but I remember my mother being very nervous. Not something that we are accustomed to. We get the odd tornado. Thankfully not big ones. My daughter moved to northern Florida a couple of years ago. I start to worry about them around this time every year. They are very close to the gulf. I don't know how you get used to it. I would be a nervous wreck.

I am from Idaho, quite close to the Oregon Border. We have mountains close for skiing, a lake right here for skiing, boating, fishing. It is considered the northwestern part of the US. We have all of the seasons, but no severe weather to speak of. This summer it did get quite hot, but no humidity and that helps. The city I live in is big but not huge. We can always catch a flight from here to Portland, Oregon or Seatlle, WA for aound $100 round trip and have a great shopping day and come home.

KRS I am sure it is overwhelming to you. Our states are like European Countries. It is something when you really think about it. Although I think in the US different parts of the country the people are some different. I have lived most of my life in the west but have lived elsewhere for a time off and on. I do know there is a big difference in people from the Eastern US and here. I have a friend that moved to Washington DC and just came back. He did not like it, and was miserable. He said he felt it easier for an easterner to fit in in the west than the other way around.

Its true your states are like some european countries, but we all have different cultures to some extent.

In Canada we to have differences between the east and the west coast people. The east coast people are very friendly and down to earth whereas the people in the west are very uptight and suspicious of friendly people from the east. I visited my daughter in British Columbia a couple of years ago before she moved to Florida. That part of the country was beautiful but not as friendly as what I am accustomed to. I have yet to visit her in Florida. I have too many responsabilities here. I hope to visit soon though. I envy you living on a small island with perfect weather. My youngest daughter and grandaughter and I visited Michigan this year for a holiday. I fell in love. My hope is to see more of the U. S. in the future.

I take offense to this remark. I am in WESTERN Canada and I don't think what you said was true at all. I think all of the bigger cities are a little more to take when you are from a smaller town. I have been around the country a little. I have found the exact opposite to be true, but I am not willing to conclude that all easterners are this way. I think that is a very naïve and arrogant attitude.

In the deep south it is very different than here also. The cultures are not as different as in Europe, but there are certainly differences. I think you find friendly people all over the world, and you will find some not so friendly. I have travelled all over the states, but not out of the country. Fed up, the summer has kept me busy. My hubby works out of town often and this summer I went with him some. It seems with those trips, my work, garden, flowers and playtime, I had no time. I pop in from time to time.

It has some of the most beautiful country I have yet to see. If you like mountains and quaint towns the west and the east of Canada is definitely the spots to go. Northern Ontario is also very beautiful. We have a lot of our American relatives that have bought vacation properties in northern Ontario. You would have a difficult time trying to get them to sell. Hmmmm... volunteer to have a tube stuck up my nose?. hmmmm...

See I'm doing an improptu minor remodel on a bathroom (fixture went caput, as in water running whether you like it or not)... so putting a tube up my nose mightve sounded like a tempting distraction a day or two ago. Now that I'm done with the rip out and new plumbing and only have the patch tile to lay, I'm thinking its no longer quite so tempting.

But when you need to find a vein, give me a call. My mother worked as a phlebotomist for a time and said she could find a vein on me from across the room.

Skip on the gag reflex fun.

Yeppers 2 more years!! And that is just for my Associates Degree. I am planning on going for my nurse practitioners license, that will actually end up being 7 more years by the time I am done!!

I just think I would look so CUTE in a nurses cap!! :p

Although I like the "scrub" look, I like the old fashioned look too.

And I will try not to spill the jell-o.

Guess I better change before I make the spaghetti for dinner.

Hey just droppin' in, I know it's been forever for me, but with school, parties, working out, girls, parties, girls, baseball season coming to an end, parties, and uhhhhhh did I mention girls already? Anyway, I was out and played ping pong for 3 straight hours in my best friends garage with my other best friend, only problem is that it was like a 100. It's really hot all of a sudden. Anyway, I was pouring with sweat. Not to mention, I lost some close pong. The real problem is I decided to go work out at around 9 p.m. after pong, and might have hurt my back. It's not bad, but it's sore, and I feel I might be regretting it in the morning. Well here's to hoping you guys have a good day tomorrow, and Ill be back!

They're good... now I'm just trying to get the snake out from under the fridge... this is the second one in four months... I don't think it's poisonous and I don't want to call the landlord and have him send his goons over cause they'll kill it.. I think it's just a chicken snake so I want to turn it loose so it can eat the mice in our back yard... One of my cat dogs has it pinned down so it isn't going anywhere either. The kids are safe on the other side of the house and sleeping soundly. Drew should be home anytime and then it will be taken care of, humainly...

The kids are growing fast. They are eating close to four oz. at a time now. We're doing the picture thing this weekend come hell or high water... lol. I have to twist Drews arm to go to walmart to have it done... He hates that place... hehehe. Anyway, hope everyone else is getting some sleep cause I'm not... well not enough anyway. I am counting the days till they sleep through the night... As it is they sleep in four hour blocks during the night which really isn't so bad. I try and keep them up during the day for a couple hours so that they are on a schedule... I'm still not sure that that's working. They do however get up at the same time or about thirty minutes of each other which is good cause they are on that schedule... since birth. I won't let them sleep longer than that so that I get my sleep too... Ok, now I'm off to look up snakes and see what's under my fridge... I guess there really is no rest for the wicked... or moms.

Myth you are a better women than me. If I had a snake in the house I would have grabbed those 2 children and I would have been out of that house so fast you wouldn't see us for dust. I am terrified of snakes. Dead or alive. I hope your dog keeps them in the kitchen until your significant other gets home and gets rid of it. Does this happen often? I don't know how you live with it. Take care.

Thanks for all the well wishes guys. I'm hoping for some sleep tonight but if not I'll sleep when they do tomorrow... lol.

Nah, I am not afraid of snakes, in fact I love them. We caught a corn snake that we called Colonel (kernel). That could be an answer to the mouse problem, if only the hubby and kids won't put it in an aquarium!!

Anyway, it is almost time to drain the jello and close the pool. Got to plan a karoke session soon.

Oh yea, I'll clean butts. I do that all the time... I clean my own daily. I have a new method for that. Involves a drill motor and a wad of burlap. I can get 2 dozen butts cleaned an hour that way. Those foley caths can be a real bugger sometimes though. I remember the last one that just would not come out. I was standing on the bed pulling with all of my might when it just suddenly came loose and I went flying half way across the room. Took me 20 minutes to stop the bleeding and get a new one stuffed back in there and get the bodily fluids running again. Yep, got to keep those bodily fluids running. Don't you agree?
