... High Fives J_9... Val you want to get on this ;)... In all seriousness, I am never serious... :D... I will recommend, maybe though that maybe instead of dieting, you try some kind of excerise? That's what I do, I work out every other day, and I watch what I eat, but I don't diet, because it can really effect the amount of nutrients your body needs. Plus, when you weight train, you need to be taking in more food than normal, so I stick to like just grilled chicken, fruits, and veggies, some kind of dairy. I am not going to lie, sometimes I break habit, I am sucker for cocoa puffs.

OKAY I HAVE A SERIOUS QUESTION. Now that we have all slapped hands. What is your guys favorite cereal. Like I said before I am partial to the cocoa puff, but I also like luck charms, and kixs berry(I can't find anythough.)

Jul 27, 2006, 04:02 PM
Well, I have never dieted and I really don't plan to start. I am just going to go back to my healthy 5 or 6 small meals a day. That is what has kept me so small all my life.

WORK OUT, ARE YOU FREAKING CRASY!! I am 42, have had 4 kids, 19, 18, 12 & 4. I think I have worked out enough for all of us on AMHD!! :D

Besides, it makes me too tired. LOL!!

And who said anything about serious. I have been told that I am too HAPPY. Seriously, I have been told that many times. Oh, yeah, I am never serious, but yeah, really I have been told that. ;)

Happy is good. Did the doctor tell you why you gained that 20 pounds? Or was he like, yeah you gained some pounds, see you next month? Those guys are my favorites, they really asure you that the care. :)

Hmmm, I am not big on cereal but when the mood hits its usually real oatmeal -- none of that doctored up instant stuff. I add raisins or chopped apple and walnuts, mmmmmMMMmmm.

Cold cereal is a thing of my past, I think or hurricane food?

Gawd, you and my dog Janine, she wakes up waaaaaaaaay too happy, I am telling you! You guys belong in the happy zoo! She is even happy at the Vets! She is so happy there that my vet kisses her, ON THE LIPS! First time he did it, I must have been like  cuz' he looked at me and said, don't worry, I won't do that to you LOL But he explained that he so seldom gets greeted like Missy greets him that he just has to have some "Missy sugar". He is a cool vet, I must admit.

Ah, he didn't say anything about the weight. Actually, most of the time they tell me that I am underweight for my height. 114 is really pretty small for 5'4" and medium boned.

Hubby likes it though, he says I don't look anorexic anymore. He wants me to keep it on. But I got to tone up the tummy. Don't tell me to do sit-ups or crunches, I don't do those, my back doesn't like 'em.

Koo Koo for Co Co puffs... figures! Anyway, back to these Scotch Bonnet peppers. I am growing a ton of them right now. They are Habaneros. That's what I make my home made hot sauce out of. You hot sauce experts would be proud. This stuff will burn the hair off a mules *** and make your eyes water just thinking about another bite!
My favorite cereal is whole bran. You see, there used to be a time when I thought sex was the greatest thing on earth... not anymore. At my age a good bowel movement is the most gratifying thing I can endevor to achieve. CoCo puffs are like eating air with just a hint of chocolate flavor. I need roughage man! Not quite hay but close!

The thing is, Nea... you have to think of this thread as like something straight out of Harry Nilsson's THE POINT (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Point%21), if you catch my drift?

(begins humming the tune to "Me and My Arrow"... )

flowerchildnea
Jul 27, 2006, 06:37 PM
Yeah I read the first post, Im not that lazy, hahaha. I guess because I read that, I knew that there must be so much conversation, and different sorts of topics going around, and I didn't have the time to read all of them, and pick one to talk about.
SO it seems like 3 of you are regulars throughout this thread.. I don't see what importance that has, I guess it just shows that I do pay attention, and have somewhat skimmed through this.
I get lost where there's not just one topic to talk about... in those situations, I tend to just get stuck reading, trying to figure out the flow of things.
Well Im all about fun. So maybe we can strike up a topic of common interest. Then we can have something substantial to talk about (Im not saying you guys haven't talked about something important... but I haven't talked about that something of importance with you yet ;) )

flowerchildnea
Jul 27, 2006, 07:03 PM
I suppose maybe there's 4 regulars?? I don't know, anyway.
Uhhh, Magprob... acid?? Hmmm at least you had some sort of like... "theres a point" experience while you were on it.
But in my life experience, and in some of the things I see going on around me. I find that a lot of things have no point. And for houses and things like that... most houses have points, but on the inside most ceilings are flat. What's the point to all of the extra pointage if the ceilings flat anyway. Well I guess insulation? An attic that no one uses?
Well sometimes there IS a point, but not a logical one. Like the girl who get pregnant and has a baby to keep her boyfriend from leaving. Well in most situations, if there is a rocky relationship, chances are that having a baby is only going to make things worse, because of the stress factor of raising it, getting a better paying job to feed it, and most of all caring for it day in and day out.
I will never understand why girls have babies to keep their boyfriend from leaving an already rocky relationship. I mean I understand why THEY do it, but their reasons aren't logical... and that's the "point" Im trying to make.
Just because there is a point to someone actions, it doesn't mean that it's the right one, or that its going to help someone in the end.
Points to me are like morals, you do something, you learn, you come to the realization of something. So when I think of a point, I try to see that pattern. And the only realization that a girl who had a baby to keep her boyfriend is going to come to, is the realization that the point she was trying to make by having a baby just left her abandoned with yet another mouth to feed besides her own. And not only is she now alone with a dependent, its going to be hard for her to find someone else to love her, because guys these days are weird about dating girls with babies.
She might always have the guy in her life (well for the first 18 years) but its not going to be a positive relationship. She's going to have to share custody if the child, and she's going to have to nag him about child support. Did she get what she wanted.. kind of. But she now has to share him with 50 other girls, and her child, in order to see him once every week, if that. She should have been more specific when she said she was having a baby to keep him. She kept him all right... against his will.
And Im not saying the guy is all high and mighty you know. It takes 2 to make a baby, but sometimes girls don't take their birth control, or they put wholes in the condoms... and these are the kinds of girls Im talking about. These kinds of girls need to get slapped.
What's the point here? What point am I trying to make? Well isn't that obvious.

HEY HEY HEY HEY, I think that is funny, I am not saying that I like them, although I like midgets. WHOSE WITH ME?? WHO DOESN'T LIKE A MIDGET?? HONESTLY! Anyway, nea our point here is to get away from the points outside, and the point we are trying to make, is that you are trying to make a point, while we are trying to point you in the right direction, never mind the point that I am making currently points somewhere totally different, and even if you trying and counter my point with your point, and we get all pointed, the whole situation is pointless.

J_9

wizzkid89

A cubbard, as pointed out to me by Webster's dictionary, A cubbard, although probably not spelled correctly, is a think above a counter where you store stuff, like cans and what not, food too, and is most likely found in a kitchen.

The POINT that you people were tying to make was that this room is stricly for hanging out, and not making points at all.
But by repeating the word POINT over and over, it was indeed proving the point, in which I just stated in the paragraph above this one.
You can't have a pointless room, if the POINT is to be pointless, because there is a point. And that point just messes everything up.

CHEERS!!

Sorry, the bar is closed as the barkeep points to the door. Stop in at 6:AM for coffee with a splash of Vodka. J_9 will be doing the watootsi in the big bird cage hanging from the ceiling and Val will have the Roulette table spinin. Good night and drive carefully!

Im sorry but who appointed you as barkeep? I think because it IS v_9's lounge she would have to be the one to put certain people in their certain positions. Or maybe shell say this is a free lounge and anyone can do as they please, or to be contrart shell say that you can have the barkeep position.
I think I will take you up on your offer for an early morning kahlua, because I so love drinking alcohol when I first wake up. It helps the day go by so much faster.

Are you feeling better KRS, boy that was some chicken soup. I may fake ill to get some of that.
For lunch lets have cool stuff, fruits and salads. Someone gave me some pineapple they brought back from Hawaii. Some cottage cheese anyone. I'll make a great fruit salad. I have to tell you tho, when I make a fruit salad I sorta have a tendency to eat the heart of the watermelon.:o Oh and hot sauce for the cottage cheese

A little bit better! To top it all up this morning I came on :(
It never rains it pours!
So besides my runny nose, sore throat, I now have severe tummy pains
So I'm going to have one hell of a weekend... not

J_9 - Soup was outstanding... I would love some more if you have any remaining!

Another hot day in Malta...

Im going to quickly nip down the road and get some DVDs as there's nothing to watch on TV.

Have a good day people :) xxx

Krs, you could try making a tea from Slippery Elm inner bark, available in any health food store in the US. Not sure where you live. It's mucilagenous, thus coating and relieving soreness. Excellent for both sore throats and intestinal inflammation. Take care.

HOLY jesus,
No wonder why I don't get the humor that circulates around this room.
I thought you guys were older, but not like 20-30 years older.
And j_9, I don't think that you were telling me I don't know anything, but I know that at the age I am right now, I probably don't have half the knowledge that you have.
I don't claim to be smart, or intelligent, I just say what I know, and spread whatever knowledge I do have... and if people decide from that how smart I am, then that's on them.
All I know is that I feel like I have become more knowlegdable about all kinds of things in the past 2 years, and I know so much more now than I did when I was 18, its just unbelieveable.
People misjudge what I do know, because I am 21, but... people really shouldn't look at age when it comes to certain subjects.
Man Im such an outside in this room, I don't talk about what you all talk about, I kind of just start my own conversations.
Thanks to those of you who acknowledge and reply to what I have to say.

Thomas1970

Hi Nea,
Well, I for one agree with your views, as well as others. Just turned 36 myself. Age isn't always necessarily a huge factor in the weight and merit of someone's words. Though often as people get older, certain views may tend to get revised. Many things do still ring true even decades later. And it's not so much about what you've learned in school, but the way you've lived your life. Which is very different for everyone. Some of the wisest, most mature people I have ever know were 16 years old, and I've also known 30 year-old adults lacking the maturity to raise their own children.
I'm sure more than a few people on these boards would agree that sometimes I live within my own unique plane of existence -- I won't argue that :) -- but I'm relatively happy there. It's my own personal truth. Stick to what you believe, and to what you feel to be right, as well as know to. Someday you might look back and change your mind about certain views. But what matters, is that they were relevant in the time in which you expressed them. There is often a temporal or historical element to truth. People will always disagree about things, but there will always be someone who values your individual words and finds truth in what you have to say. It's all about agreeing to peacably disagree. That's what makes life truly diverse and interesting.

This post is about nothing, so how can you feel what you say is wrong? Thomas is right, age does not always go along with maturity. It's not just for the seniors and experts, I think she just just didn't put a comma after members, which lead you to believe that she was talking about only seniors and experts. I have never tried windsurfing, party because I think, if I am thinking of the right thing, that it requires certain equipment, like a parachute of some sort, and we don't have that.

Anyway, I am still tired, but the whole problem is that I will probably be up longer tonight, than usual, because I slept the day away...

Though often as people get older, certain views may tend to get revised. Many things do still ring true even decades later. That's what makes life truly diverse and interesting.

I don't know how to exactly reword the certain parts of this and put it into my own words, so that I can show you that I not only completely understand what you saying, but I agree, and this is basically what I was saying with less detail.
The one thing that you said about school not being the major factor in someone's knowledge is something I highly agree with. I know a lot of people who are only school smart, people who went to college at the age of 10, and own mansions by 20. But if you ever have a conversation with those kind of people, they can't tell you a thing about street life. They can't tell you a thing about how to raise a child, and its not even about telling you what they know, because I think of these people as parrots. They do what they're teachers tell them, what they're parents tell them, what the authority tells them, but they forgot to do what they wanted to do. They thought they wanted to listen to their parents when they're parents told them to go to school, get an education, and forget about tom and jane... they won't matter when you live in the mansion. But guess what, while going through school, it might be a good idea not to get to involved with other influences (people, drugs, alcohol etc) BUT when you live in that mansion, and your all alone, your going to wish you had tom to call over and have a few cocktails with, and your going to wish jane had your ring on her finger and your babies in her belly.
I don't know where all that came from, but I guess its my way of telling you, I totally agree, and not only do I agree, but this is why. When I speak of age not being a factor, I just mean that a 5 year old can tell his 35 year old mother something she would have never known... and not just because his teacher told him, but because he took the time to observe, and understand. "Mommy, why is cindy's stomach hard in one spot? Maybe thats why shes crying." or "Mommy, maybe the birds dont sing anymore, because theyre eating their poo and not their bird seed" I think observation, and having a rational mindset are 2 things that come naturally in a lot of ways, but at the same time.. they are 2 things that to me, define a persons intelligence.

Well Im done here, I don't want to talk too much, thank you for helping me feel like I might have a place here. Being an alien is kind of not good these days, especially if your illegal.

Sometimes while lounging, and having a nice cold drink.. and I tend to have serious conversations. Its not something you should avoid, or something you should want to avoid. I think of this room as a room where there IS no topic... but that doesn't mean we can't talk about serious stuff from time to time. No topic doesn't mean nothing but happy talk, it just means where not talking about the same old thing throughout the whole forum. So if something serious comes up from time to time, that should be OK right?
You say "back to the fun," well... I think that I have established myself as a part of this room, and no one has asked me to leave yet (sits and waits for someone to kick her out). So... while Im member of this room, I want to have fun as well, AND, I just so happen to enjoy (enjoy means your having "fun" doing something.. right?) talking about things that matter to me. And just because I AM talking about serious things, doesn't mean Im necessarily less comfortable, or less happy than any one of you.

this post is about nothing, so how can you feel what you say is wrong? Thomas is right, age does not always go along with maturity. There are times my grandson has things figured and his mom is still pondering what happened:) Granted, life experiences give us knowlege, but watching others can be a great help in avoiding a few crashes.

Hi cassie,
I don't think this is about right and wrong ("so how can you feel what you say is wrong? thomas is right..." You used the words right and wrong, and to me that means that you THINK (Im not saying that this is, for sure, how you feel) that someone has to be right, and that someone has to be wrong, in order to make sense of what this room is all about.
I think thomas made sense of what I was saying, and was kind of just trying to make me feel like I have a place here. And I appreciate that. I also appreciate the fact that in a way, you were somewhat agreeing with the whole "if theres no topic then, then we should be able to talk about anything" idea. Hmm I talk too much.

Ok and uh... I want another request for chill pills. Can we have ummmmm, GUMMY BEARS, hehe. I love gummie bears, and they won't rott your teeth as fast as skittles. And just for Myth, we can order some special chocolate covered green mint gummie bears, that way no one feels left out.

I am tired, It's Sunday, and I went out last night, so I am just kicking it. I am watching Sunday movies. All on TV. I watched the replacements, now a Knights Tale. The replacements is one of my favorites, even though it's kind of childish, and the writing is not all that great, I am sucker for sports movies where the team bonds and prevails in the end. Major League 1,2,3, um All the Mightey Ducks, pretty much any baseball movie, like rookie of the year, little big league, a league of their own, THERE'S NO CRYING IN BASEBALL! rudy is a great movie, remember the titans, the air up there, Friday Night Lights, bull durham, o the list could go on and on... but I can't think of them all right now... all the cafinee I have consumbed has me in a rush, no what I mean J_9 ;)...
