Hi guys trying to beat the heat again. Had to explain why I came home naked and wet with all these animals behind me. I put it on O.D.ing off some skittles. Am I in time for coffee? A movie? Anyone like BBQ Shrimp? Why am I so thirsty and why is everyone staring at me?

Jul 30, 2006, 10:43 PM
Talan,
Are you a smoker? The only people I know of that carry lighters in their back pockets are smokers (not that it would be a bad thing, just thought I would ask).
You know what, I think I came in at the right part of this party... I LOVE bar-b-que's. To bad you guys are all on a different time schedule than me. Or id like... be able to talk to you when the idea is still fresh, and when the party is still going on.
(*sits and eats the last of the bar-b-que by her lonesomes, while drinking wine straight from the bottle, dangling her feet over the edge of the pool, and singing "all by myself... don't want to be... all by myself*)
Krs
Jul 31, 2006, 12:41 AM
I know some guys who are non smokers but carry lighters in their back pocket!
Reason why? ;)
Because if they out in a club a see a nice young lass with a cigarette it's their chance to offer her a light and maybe a chat :D
talaniman
Jul 31, 2006, 03:47 AM
Morning, coffee... and a cigarette puh... lease, If I didn't smoke I'd be tooooooooooooo perfect. Who wants that?? Easy on the wine dear.
valinors_sorrow
Jul 31, 2006, 05:13 AM
LOL. Easy on the singing too, those howling dogs are like... oh my ears!
This is something of a global non-stop party here with us all mixed up time-wise amd spread all over the planet but then hey, that is part of what makes it so dang cool to me.
G'morning peeps! Ah, coffeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, thank you Tal.
(stands near Tal and gets a ever so slightly risky vicarious thrill off the aroma of his cigarette, quit now almost nine years but hubby still smokes.)

Save some kool-aid for Chava's tribe I got to go put some clothes on but the pool should be full of jello by then, right?
wizzkid89
Jul 31, 2006, 01:40 PM
Okay, I would love a pool full of jello just as much as the next guy, however, remembering the consistency of the particular substence in question, I only presume, with out being too presumptuous, that my logicality is correct in saying that he would presumably, upon impact, be caught in the jello's goodness, basically the marrow of my point is that he will stick in the jello...
valinors_sorrow
Jul 31, 2006, 01:42 PM

The day my mother decided to move back home was the day I decided that I was going to sleep through an earthquake in californina... lol... I was four at the time. Kids can sleep through anything if your not sneaking around them when their sleeping. My oldest used to fall asleep between the speakers listening to Pantera... lol

I am not that big on snow, anymore krs, but now that I am living in California, I hear that a lot, that they wish they had snow. Then I tell them, that really it's cool for like a week, but then the shoveling, and the COLD, really sucks. But, like I said, it is something everyone should experience, because really nothing beats a white christmas. Now, I am rocking the palm tree christmas, but I had my days in the sun, or snow I guess.
Anyway, I do have a question it has bugged me for years, and mankind for centuries. How do women shop? I mean I have questions about life and stuff, but they are deep, philosophical, aristotle meets plato questions, but there is a few that have plagued me. One being shopping. For me, and I imagine most guys, it's a hell. I have hated it since I have been a little wizz. Honestly, it bothered and bothers the hell out of me. It starts before I even get there, just the architecture of the place gives me the most giant headache known to man. Then you get inside, and there is an aroma about the place that to me signals death. As soon as I get in there, I just want to break down and cry, I am tearing up thinking about it now. I just want to scream, and like these primal urges come over me and I need to find an escape. It doesn't really matter, who I go with, friends, girlfriend, mom, sister, family, or any combo, it is still doom to the wizz. I hate going into stores, the bright lights, the artificial air. The bags, the stalls, the shops. But worst, the people. OMG. The people, I feel like I am in a can of sardines. Everyone so close, so close. It's freaking me out right now. I don't know why, I just can't stand it. If I do need to go there, and trust me, I would really need to, I get in and get what I need, and leave, as quick as can be. In and out. I am positive, that if I go to hell, upon my arrival, I will be doomed to be stuck inside of a mall forever, and all they would play on the intercoms would be pro-feminism music, like sara mclogin, or melissa ethridge, or that canadian singer who has no idea what irony means.

It is not quite the gender thing you might think Wizz... I hate to shop, own less than a a half dozen pairs of shoes and have nothing in my car that isn't car related either, and yet remains the closet girly girl my husband claims I am (whatever that is!? ). How do I shop -- Internet and during off hours is how. Shrugs :o

I grew up around Lake Michigan where you can get 10 inches of lake effect snow and the winters were brutal sometimes, now here in Texas not only have I not seen any snow but they shut everything down schools, businesses, and the whole city when they have bad weather. We walked to school in blizzards and Whizz, the malls are always open no matter the weather, and all the females in my family would love to shop till they drop but thank goodness they run out of money (YOUR MONEY) first. The only stores I go into sell food or liquor.
You grew up near Lake Michigan??
Oh, man, don't tell me it was near Grand Rapids, Zeeland or Holland areas??
I thought I saw you nakie before!!

HaHaHa, no no I grew up in Northern Indiana where the deer are delicious and the corn is plentiful My child hood was spent running around in the woods building tree houses and cleaning out chicken coups. I woke to roosters crowing and if you ever saw me naked back in the day you'd never forget it as I was a REAL hard body and that's the only reason my wife married me anyway! Shhhh... thats why I married her too, cause she is fine as cat hair... and cooks like .mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Awesome! :) Glad to see it's still lowering. That's probably better than mine at this point. :)
Yeah, it almost never gets that hot anywhere in New England. Thankfully, I have no where I need to be tomorrow. I'm not leaving the house until after dark.
One day this summer I'll get out for a swim. Haven't done so in years. Jello would probably just melt and make a big mess in this heat. Need some Sour Skittles to go with pessimistic attitude. Used to like those until they took them off the market. :)
Hi, I am new but thought I would pop in.
Our temperature dropped to the 80's the past couple of days. Thank goodness. I had clients in the mountains today and it was wonderfulllllll there. I hated to come back. I love snow, but after Christmas I am ready to go to Arizona until spring.
I rather love cherry jello, actually. A little tidbit about Lime jello, there is more lime jello sold in Utah than any other. For some reason mormons love lime jello.

Malta is a tiny speck on the map! Literally tiny. It's a small island.
Its situated just beneath Sicily. Sicily is beneath Italy!
Can you roughly picture it?
I would love to see snow. I saw abit of snow when I lived in england and also saw snow when I went on a holiday in sicily and went on Mount Etna.
Summers in Malta can get unbareable sometimes, with temperatures rising up to 40deg C.
Sorry ladies, I must admit when I can I LOVE shopping...

Once I remember here in Malta schools closed for the day due to bad weather.
Althou its mainly sunny here, when it rains in Malta is rains.. the heavens open and my god it gushs downs so fast... and sometimes we do get tropical storms, with loud thunder and bright lightening. And due to this because we are not mostly prepared for it our roads floods.. it will be choatic!
Your seasons sound familiar :)

Anyways, I do have a question it has bugged me for years, and mankind for centuries. How do women shop? I mean I have questions about life and stuff, but they are deep, philosophical, aristotle meets plato questions, but their is a few that have plagued me. One being shopping. For me, and I imagine most guys, it's a hell. I have hated it since I have been a little wizz. Honestly, it bothered and bothers the hell out of me. It starts before I even get there, just the architecture of the place gives me the most giant headache known to man. Then you get inside, and their is an aroma about the place that to me signals death. As soon as I get in there, I just wanna break down and cry, I am tearing up thinking about it now. I just wanna scream, and like these primal urges come over me and I need to find an escape.
I think its weird how the only people who responded to your question, were women who seem to dislike/hate or care very little about shopping. And to add to that, I to hate shopping.
I actually think you suffer from like some sort of shopping center phobia, or some phobia associated with feeling trapped, or stuck, or crowded. I to am the same way, I HATE feeling like Im in a can of sardines, and I have to stand around, and rub up against people, and I have to breath their same air, and it just grosses me out.
I hate bright lights because I feel insecure in bright settings, because I feel like people can see my dark circles (from lack of sleep and stress) and they can see my flaws (I don't know if I have any, but I sure do feel like I have them under bright lights.
I LOVE shopping for food, but only when Im starving... I think that makes sense. Im not shopping to stock up my fridge, Im shopping to feed my mind cravings... So I buy all this food, and then when Ive gone home and grub, and put away all the stuff I bought when Im not to fat to walk... then I realize that I really didn't need any of the things that I bought, and that I was "buying" with my eyes.
I HATE shopping for clothes, and I hate going to places like walkmart, and kmart. Even as a child I would always get dehydrated shopping, and I would get sick from the lights, and the smells, and the hard shiney fake tile floors, and the rows upon rows of clothes that have that new smell that makes me naucious.
I hate buying clothes because Im 5'8 and 112 lbs, and I can never find anything that long enough, and small enough to fit my body. So I just get frustrated and give up.
The way I shop is I go in a store, grab something I like, buy it and get the hell out of there. Half of the time I end up returning what I grabbed (and bought) and that just makes me angry, because its like a waste of time.
Well you've only heard responses from women who Don't like to shop. Hopefully someone who likes, or used to like shopping can write to you.
But you know what... I really don't think adult women like shopping... most of the time, they have to, because the men won't, and they need groceries, or detergent, or this and that. And because you always see women in stores you think they like to, but Im sure they hate it. Cause they have to buy the stuff, put the stuff in the car, and put the stuff away, and then they cook the stuff, or wash the stuff, or stock the stuff... not fun in any way.
I think what you meant is why do teenage, to young adults (females) love to shop. And the answer is, they are interested in fashion. They like to spend their daddies cash, they love to abuse the credit cards, and they love to sport and admire what they did buy. It's a never ending process... a young female can never get tired of new things... there's always a new style that she just has to have. And if she personally doesn't want it, then shell be made fun of for not being "in style" EVen the punk kids who claim no style... have a style, and its called punk.
I don't know why you say you don't think adult women like shopping!
That's mad
All the adult ladies I know LOVE shopping...
Or maybe do you think I could be an european thing?
Maybe Europeans love shopping lol

Im 27 I'm not a teenager, mum is definitley not a teenager, my friends are all roughly my age!
We love to shop, I even enjoy window shopping!
I shop for my style of clothes I don't give a damn or follow the latest fashion, I have my own personal style! I don't shop because others would make fun of me, if I did it for that reason, I would be so sad!
I don't abuse my credit card on clothes, because I'm adult enough to know if I don't have the money I just don't shop, its as simple as that!

Yeah, mom my loves to shop, but I understand what you are saying nea. However, I was just trying to point out that the majority of women who shop is a lot larger than the majority of women who shop. I think there were always be differences, but I do believe that more women love to shop then men. I also believe that yeah, more teenage women, young women, shop maybe because they don't have families yet, and that is how they like to spend their time, like a hobby. I know the older women, don't necessarily have the finicial or time needs to shop like their younger counterparts, because they usually have families, which suck up their time. My question wasn't really a question, I get it, it was more of a rant than anything. I just hate shopping, I see some of you agree, and some don't, and that's great. I just wanted to share my point of view, and see other's points of view, so I can better understand them.
As far as my fashion, goes, I don't have one. Honestly I need the queer eye straight guy thing, I mean I keep clean, I use gel, but that's about where I stop the metrosexual thing. I grew up in the midwest, and around farmers, my dad's whole family farms, so I am use to blue jeans, white tees, and baseball hats. Which I guess I should step it up, because most californias, really do have a tendency to follow the whole metrosexual things, so I get the girls who don't like the metrosexual thing and want a guy who is more into car's than tan's, and sports than hair. That's just how I roll. It's more or less being indifferent. I guess you could say I am to lazy to change. It's just to easy being me.

I'm on the fence on the shopping thing... sometimes I love to and sometimes I hate to. I like to shop when nobody is at the mall and it's the off season. I hate christmas shopping. I hate the crowds, the people that are angry they have to be there, the over all commercial atmosphere. I don't like buying what everyone else does either. I hate following a trend. I hate that celebs have their own lines of things that people buy to be like them... that's just stupid, no two people are alike so why would I want to be anything other than me? Sorry think I went off on a tangent there... lol... Chalk it up to labor pains and pregnancy brain... yeah, that's it... hehehe

Well Whizz, I love shopping sometimes, but I am not one who can do it everyday. I enjoy shopping for others and it's fun to travel to another city and shop. I like different things. So I don't enjoy mall shopping. I get a bit closed in feeling in a mall anyway. Strip malls do not bother me as much. I just think most men unless it is homedepot or a tool store don't enjoy shopping at all.

Well, I for one love to shop. Though I am a Cancerian, home is everything to me. Not big on clothes shopping, but I do love to decorate my living space. I'm definitely the domestic one in the family. Love to cook as well. :)
I for one love Christmas shopping, but I like to do it earlier in the year to avoid the rush. Giving a gift gives me soooo much pleasure. I got my hubby a guitar a couple of months ago and he loves it and plays it a lot, it makes me feel so wonderful. There are many variables to my shopping, such as I am not a mall shopper, would rather never go there. I like things that are unique and enjoy that kind of looking. Now, my hubby can shop for tools etc and never tire, but if he sees a dress boutique, his back goes out:) Shopping is something I have little time for so rarely do, I have to be in the mood and I am a fast shopper and would rather do it alone. I do love book stores and thank goodness so does my mate.
Whizz, I think a lot of people do not like the confines of a mall, they are building a few more strip malls for that reason.
I have to admit it was fun flying to Seattle or San Francisco with a friend for a day or 2 of shopping and lunches when I was in the 9 to 5 work force.")

I dont know why you say u dont think adult women like shopping!
Thats mad
All the adult ladies i know LOVE shopping...
Or maybe do u think i could be an european thing?
Maybe Europeans love shopping lol
Maybe its because all the adult women "I" know hate shopping, and they only do it because they have to. I can't speak for the world, and I really wasn't trying to, and I think its funny how the only people who responded to what whizz had to say were women who didn't necessarily prefer shopping. And then after what I said, it seems like everyone has something positive to say about shopping, and its like... well OK, where were you before I wrote all that crap. I could have seen both sides, and given a more precise opinion on the likes and dislikes of shopping.
I didn't COMPLETELY single out adult women from shopping... Im not one sided about the things I argue about. I was just trying to respond to whizz in the way that he would understand, because he is young. And I was assuming that he was asking why females his age love to shop. I am also young, Im 21, so I have no reason to be around adult women (30's and up. And please don't get offended by that, I just personally don't think that women are adults until they are 30.. well most of them. Some women are adults at 18, but that's because they've proven themselves responsible, independent, and intelligent. By the way, please refrain from arguing with me about my point of view on adult women. I know that a lot of you won't agree, and I don't feel like hearing it) So anyway, I have no reason to be around adult women who like to shop.
My mom is a mother of 9 children, and my dad walked out on all of us when my youngest sister wasn't even 1 years old yet. My mom has to clothes shop, school shop, grocery shop... and all that, for 9 people, plus herself, so you can imagine how much she HATES shopping. Even women that I do know hate shopping, and they only do it for their families, and for themselves so that they can survive. That's where I was coming from with my opinion. I was saying that adult women I know hate shopping, and that only the younger women I know love shopping. I wasn't saying everyone is like that.
Now I know that EVERY women has at least 1 thing that they LOVE to shop for. Even I said I love shopping for food when Im hungry, but I HATE shopping in general... did I not. I hate the ACT of shopping, but I LOVE getting what I need in the end. Maybe people mix that up with shopping. To me shoppping isn't looking at things you like, that's called browsing, am I right? Shopping is going to some place, to get what you need, and then you leave. So some of you ladies who responded to what I said might like browsing (one of you pointed out that you like window shopping, I consider that browsing, cause you never went inside, nor did you buy anything. And we ALL like to look at things that we might want... )
I hate stores, I hate being around crowds of people, I hate the smells, I hate the attitudes of the people shopping, I hate the vibe, I hate going to the counter, I hate carrying my stuff to the car. But when I get home, I LOVE what I got, and I wear it, or I eat it, or I watch it, or I play with it... whatever. Maybe all of you mix the actual shopping experience, with being excited about getting what you like when you shop. I think that's a better phrase for it, instead of why do women hate shopping, it should be why do women hate the whole "shopping experience" because that's what I hate, I don't know about the rest of you.
Ok Im being a little exaggerative here, and I know what Im saying is going to stir up controversy. For those of you who still feel strongly about loving the actual act of shopping, the going through the crowded isles, the picking what you want, the paying at the counter and all that then good for you. And Im not saying you don't exist... And some of you are going to disagree with my idea of shopping, because you'll think that shopping is browsing, and it is this or it is that.
Also krs... what exactly do you mean european women?? I don't know where you going with that. I live in america, and I don't know anything about the way europeans shop, or even how much they like to shop. So please clarify that.
For all of you reading, please know that Im not angry, hostile, or upset. Im just trying to explain my point of you in a way that it doesn't exclude one person or the other. I promise I won't talk this much again.
Besides, I want a big juicey medium rare steak, some cherry jello, some brocoli, some corn on the cob, a baked potato with sour cream, cheddar cheese, chives, and bacon bits on top, and lastly I want a Coke to help it all go down.

Flower... just a figure of speech I guess!
Different cultures or mentality I don't really know!
But I would say as a general rule europeans love to shop.
When I lived in england I would be astonished to see how many british shop 24/7 especially at the weekends, we had a couple of married mates who would do it every Sat. Make a day out of it! And also buying stuff too!
That was even abit too much for me.
The italians, they love to shop too. But italians are very much into style and fashion!
The maltese, like me, are abit like both of the above! But not when its booming with heat in the summer, we either go to the beach or stay indoors in the air con.
Yes, Cassie, I totally agree!
Good morning all...

"Duh, Mommy, then I just won't go to sleep!!!!!!"
OMG I had to die laughing.
Bless... how cute!
You can really really communicate with them at that age.
Yes, you can. And now we are about to have 2 new ones. Myth is having one boy and one girl.
I can't wait!!
Ahhhhhh how nice.
Twins.. a boy and a girl...
That's what I want :D
And I can have twins...
You go girl!! Have those twins, then I will have to come visit you. However, Malta is much farther away then the 20 miles (32.2 km) I have to go to see Myth!!
Much much further away... which is a shame as I would have loved that and actually meeting you :)
But when this happens ill keep you all posted on AMHD with pictures and all.
To all my friends here. Xx
That would be great!!
I love pics!!
Right now it is 6 am and I am trying to think of something for breakfast before I go to bed. I have been up all night shopping (you know I hate shopping) and worrying about Myth.
How about an egg & Bacon sandwich ?
Its now 1pm here, and I'm heating up some baked pasta (maltese style) that mum made for dinner yest, was so good I wanted some for lunch today :)

Good morning. Are we on the wait and watch list for Myth?
Yes, Mom, we are. I got a call from her yesterday around 3 p.m. She was in quite a bit of distress so I told her to go to the hospital. She did and they sent her home about 4 hours later.
She was in labor, I believe, but it was not active labor. So, it is all a waiting game now.
T-Man, I need some caffine,
Could you please pass the coffee!!
(Sshhh, don't tell anyone I have been on the caffine wagon for 6 days now)

False labor? Why does that happen?
And thanks for filling me in too.
MOM!!
CONGRATULATIONS, I HAD NO IDEA!! (not)
I live the new title, it looks good on you!!
Val, Congrats..
Addictions Expert...
I may need your help at some point ;)
False labor is nothing more than the muscles around your abdomen contracting as in labor, however, it does not result in birth. It is more like you are getting ready for the real thing to happen.
But I am not so sure this is false, just early labor. Can last for a week or so, especially with twins.

Ooooooooooooookay, now I am really confused...
What is the difference between regular labor and early (real?) labor?
Wait, this is too early in the morning for this... I need coffee... I need bath... runs off laughing!
All a matter of pregnancy Mom. It all ends up in the delivery room!!

So good to hear you are all all right... rest, yesss lots of that, I would think?
Myth, good luck. I am new to this forum, but I have twins girls. They are grown now, but I loved every minute of it. One was 6lbs and the other 5lbs 5oz at birth. Get your rest now, as you will really need it.
I think I will have some coffee, just black, thank you.
I did love shopping with them, and my older daughter. We would go to a different city and laugh as we tried on different outfits, some quite bazaar, and have lunch and enjoy the day.

We have the same thing in Texas, shop till you drop and get up and shop some more, who could resist no taxes AND reduced prices. Excuse me while I BLOW my budget!! OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhh! I ain't in Tenn.
Well, I was a good girl. I stuck to the budget and the school supply list. My kids get new clothes constantly so they really did not need anything new.
But what blew the budget is that Johnny starts big boy school on Monday and we have never had to but supplies for him before.
He was so excited to get his first packpack (backpack) and munchbox. It was WAY too cute!!
Oh, yeah, the packpack and munchbox are Spiderman! What parent could resist.

(WAVES TO EVERYONE) What's up GANG what did I miss...
I have been kind of sidelined for the past few days. I went to a party Wednesday night, but it didn't go as the usual one's go, I got into a big fight. The story is pretty simple. I was the designated driver, or d-squared, anyway, as you all should know by now I am a wiseguy, sometimes that equates to an *******. Eitherway, everyone else was drinking, and I was my wiseass self, and I got into a fight with two other people. The problem, was was that when people are drunk they don't feel pain right away so the fight lasted a lot longer than it should have. No blows were landed to my face, I can't say for the other guys, they got a few good ones in. I got around 20 shots to the stomach/ribs and one especially almost knocked the wind out of me. After like 30 minutes, someone eventually broke up the fight, but not after we got in a least 30 shots total to everyone. These past few days, I have been taking things easy, as that one shot to my ribs has sidelined me quite well. I am not eating as much, and the real crappy thing is I can't work out, it's a combination of me being too tired and a few pains in my sides. Anyway, just going to stop in and tell you that I haven't died, just resting. Happy Friday...
Wizzyboy, fighting!? OOOhhhhhhh, you are in TROUBLE!!
Oh, you need to take it easy for the next 2 or 3 days.
T-Man, yes Spidy is costly. 25 for the packpack and munchbox combo, thank goodness Sears had it 50% off and of course NO TAXES!!
Get your daughter to make your favorite flavor of kool-aid!!

Trust me I have been taking it easy, I have just been sitting around all day trying to find things to do that won't involve much work. Which hasn't been too successful. Anyway, I am going to jet for a while, or at least I hope I am going to go, but no drinking, because my body can't take it. Peace, guys. AND WHAT HAPPENED TO BATMAN?
