    Hi, Shiang!

That's okay! I did wonder what had happened to you!

What do you mean by "notes", please? Music notes or maybe notes like a person might take in a class at school because of what the teacher is teaching?

I'll be on much later tonight. Not much time for here at this time... Am doing fancy painting on a ceiling in the home where I'm presently staying to take care of the dogs.

    Thanks!

By notes I mean like a person might take in class. :) So I can remember easier or refer better.

Ohh wow! On a ceiling sounds so cool haha. Have fun with the dogs :D

I'm here now, Shiang! I can't stand being on the ladder anymore and my neck is killing me! I feel like Michelangelo painting the Sistine Chapel!

Hey, that's all too cool that you're taking notes about what we're trying to do here! You can really learn online, especially if you have "live" help!

Aww I hope your neck feels better!

I have bad memory haha so I must write down. :) Live help super helpful!

Can you tell me some of the things that you've learned so far on this thread? You don't have to name them all, just some of them.

    Thanks!

I learned that the half note has no flag, one flag is eighth note, 3 flag is 32nd note.
And on the hands thumb is 1 and to pinky it be 5.

    Lol :)

    Hey, that's very good! :)

If your thumb, which is number one plays middle "C", which finger would play the "E" directly to the right of middle "C"?

    Shiang

    Finger three?

Here's the first part of your song again. Your right thumb would play the first two "C"'s that are in the right hand, treble clef part. The next two notes are eighth notes. What is the letter name of the next two notes that are the eighth notes, please?

    Would they be D?

No, they are "E"'s. There is a space in between them and the "C"'s.

Please study what is on the following site for some beginning music theory.

    sightsing.com Notes names and clefs

You'll be able to play your song, but you need to know some basic things first.

What is the name and model number of the keyboard that your sister has?

Oooh okay. That site is really helpful haha.

    She tells me it's a Yamaha PSRE403. :0

Okay, then I'm going to look the keyboard up. I can show you how to play it.

Please do study what's on that page. It's just very basic.

I'll return in a minute after looking up that keyboard.

    Thanks!

Cool! Then what's the letter name of the first white key on the left side?

    Is it C? >_<

    Yes, very good! It's "C".

Do you see how the black keys are arranged in a pattern of twos and threes?
  • Mar 24, 2009, 12:54 AM
    Shiang

    I see the pattern. :0
