Okay, I'll work on this later this evening, Shiang. I'm not sure just yet, but I might have to change the melody a bit.

I don't have much time now because of having to work.

I hope that you have a great time at your cousin's birthday party! :)

    Hi Clough.
They say God has a sense of humor and I am living proof. He gave me a love of music ,an appreciation of lyrics and a tin ear and a worse voice.I had a friend who forbade me from singing in her car! Like they say * I could not carry a note in a paper bag*.That's me!
I have dabbled with guitar and piano and harmonica but ,to be honest I would not call it *playing* an instrument.
Keep up the good work with helping these aspiring artists. It is so important to have this creative outlet and what you are doing is very kind.

Thank you so much for your kind words, artlady! They are much appreciated! Would you like to improve your skills at the piano and develop a better ear for how you might produce music that you can make yourself? I can show you how...

I hope that you had a good time at the party!

I'm not sure what you mean by "And play computer at work?"

Please go to the link for the virtual piano and let me know when you're there and it's loaded up for you to play it.

Do you know the song, "Mary Had a Little Lamb?"

    Shiang

I've got it in a separate window.

I heard that one before, in nursery.

If you know how the words go, would you please write them here? I want to make sure that you really know it.

This is all leading up to your being able to play the song that we're writing together.

    Thanks!

    Mary had a little lamb
    Little lamb
    Little lamb

    Mary had a little lamb
And it was white as snow? XD

    Hey, that's good!

Here's the notes that you would use on the virtual keyboard.

    E, D, C, D, E, E, E__, D, D, D__, E, G, G__, E, D, C, D, E, E, E, E, D, D, E, D, C__

Where I've written a "__", that is where you would play a note for a longer time.

Please play it on the keyboard.

    Thanks!

    Shiang

    I played it a few times, but the E, E, E__ doesn't sound right. :\
  • Mar 21, 2009, 11:25 PM
    Clough

The three "E"'s in a row is correct. There might be some variations on the song, but that is the usual way that it is played.

Did it sound like the way that you remember it?
  • Mar 21, 2009, 11:36 PM
    Shiang

Lol the E was just really abrupt? It did sound like I remembered though.

    That's good!

Here's the real music to it that's taken from the following site.

    Free Piano Music!

There is only one note that's different from the ones that I gave to you.

What do you think the letter name of the first note is?

    Shiang

I guess E is what it starts with?
  • Mar 21, 2009, 11:50 PM
    Clough

That's correct! "E" is the bottom line of the treble clef staff!

What do you suppose those numbers under the notes are for?
