    The wording sounds good :)

Ooo but I can't read it haha. I made my sister play it for me this morning so I could hear what it sounds like. c:

    Hi, Shiang!

So, how did it sound to you? I hope that you liked it!

    Thanks!

It sounded very nice and quick. I liked it very much. C:

    Okay, thanks!

I wondered when you would return to here. How did your exam go?
  • Mar 19, 2009, 09:44 PM
    Shiang

Haha I took a long nap after my audition today. The exam went pretty well? Easier than expected, but too much time left and there was nothing to do. :c

What do you mean by "audition", please?
  • Mar 19, 2009, 10:01 PM
    Shiang

Oh uhm like, one of the instructors came and graded and also picked who she wanted to have in her dance to preform in late May.

Do you know if you got a part in it yet?
  • Mar 19, 2009, 10:10 PM
    Shiang

I know for sure I didn't because I messed up on one of the turns the second try. So no go for that dance in May. c:

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't make it! Oh well, you can try again next time!

Does your sister play a keyboard instrument?
  • Mar 19, 2009, 10:20 PM
    Shiang

It's all right though haha. Yup many more tries to go to. :D

She plays a little bit, like she just started recently. So yes?

Yup, I like your attitude concerning trying! :D We're never through...

Would you like to see a harder version of your song that has more to it in order for it to sound fuller and more beautiful?
  • Mar 19, 2009, 10:30 PM
    Shiang

Haha because if one gives up they go no where. :)

Sure, that'd be great. :D I'll torture her in the morning trying to teach me it. XD
  • Mar 19, 2009, 10:34 PM
    Clough

Yes, I agree with you! If one gives up, they do go nowhere!

What I'm going to post is going to be too difficult for your sister to play it with both hands at the same time. One of your other musician friends who has been playing awhile will be able to play.

Does your sister play on a real piano or some kind of keyboard or electric piano?
  • Mar 19, 2009, 10:37 PM
    Shiang

Ah okay. I have found my friend's sister who has played almost as long as the violinist, but she doesn't go to my school. Most people here play Guitar, and only a tiny bit of piano.

She plays a keyboard I think it's what it's called. It looks like cutting out the key's chunk of the paino, putting it on legs, right?
  • Mar 19, 2009, 10:44 PM
    Clough

Yes, that's a keyboard. The other version of your song is coming. Will just take me a couple of minutes to post it here.

Below, is a more complicated version of your song that you could print and then see if a friend could play it. The melody is the same as the very first one that I posted. This one now has the left-hand accompaniment that I earlier described about on this thread.

The first two lines of the song are in the first image. Both the second and third line are in the second image.

Oh wooow. So many notes haha.
A different melody? Like uhm tone? :s

But yaaay I can't wait to know what it sounds like. :D

I do not know what they are, but what they look like. Let's assume I forgot most things from fourth grade music class haha. :D

Hello, and thank you Artlady. :)

Thanks for the compliments, artlady! Shiang and I have now been working on her song for a few days. What is your background in music, please? I know that you and I already share a number of things in common. But, I would appreciate knowing more about what it might be musically.

    Thanks!

Hello, and thank you Artlady. :)

Would you like to know more about music and piano so that you would be able to play your song, Shiang? I know that I could teach you how to play the melody fairly quickly. Not all tonight, but soon.

I would enjoy teaching you if you would like to learn! :)

Okay, that's great! Then we can learn about music and also how you can play your song on this thread!

I'm going to post images of your song with an easier left-hand accompaniment that I'm sure wouldn't take you very long to learn after you learn how to play the melody with your right-hand.

Like before, it will take me a couple of minutes to post the images.

I love music. My grandparents ran a type of speakeasy in the old days ,my grandmother made the beer and gin.My mother sang and my grandfather played the piano. My mother just had her 85th birthday yesterday.I learned all my first music from Mom and my Grandfather, then there is a very long history of being with band people. Band manager so much fun..
    Kidding it got boring.
I have always been involved with pretty top music people where I live.My son is a hot DJ.
    He rocks it.
    Music is the bomb:)

Here is a version of your song that we've worked on so far, that has much less of a complicated accompaniment. It is easy to play.

Hey, all of the above is great! Do you play a musical instrument? If so, what is it or are they, please?

    Thanks!

Haha it does look easier. Thanks for showing me, Clough. :D

Then we'll work at a later time then...

I look forward to doing that with you! This sort of thing can happen online, but it just takes a bit of doing...

I'm house and dog-sitting for some friends this Saturday through next Saturday. So, I'll probably be on here quite a bit.

Plus, the weekend is coming up here, so maybe you and I can get a lot done as far as learning and writing.

I do hope that you print out the music so that someone who does play the piano can play them for you.

    Thanks!

    Goodnight to you, too! :)

Did you see my last question to you in post #70, artlady?
  • Mar 20, 2009, 07:45 PM
    Shiang

Actually when I think about it... how will learning online work out haha?

    Ohh dog-sitting? Is it fun?
Speaking of dogs, this man was "walking" like 7 dogs. They pulled him while he was on his bike.

    Hopefully lotsa things done :)

I printed it and asked my sister to play, but she seemed to have trouble with it.

    Hi, Shiang!

I just got an email saying that you had responded on this thread, so I wanted to respond.

I moved in a day early where I'm house and dog-sitting because my friends are leaving very early in the morning and didn't want to let the dogs out so soon to bark in the neighborhood.

Learning online will work. It's not ideal for learning the piano, but I'm sure that you can learn a lot of things about that by the things that we can do.

The dog-sitting is fun! I sit on the dogs and they have to obey! Ha, ha! :)

I knew that your sister would have trouble playing the more complicated versions of your song since she is a beginner. I'm sure that at least some of your friends who play the piano will be able to play them.

Anyway, I'm still trying to get some things done here where I'm staying, and I'll return after awhile...

I hope that you're still here when I return!

    Thanks!
  • Mar 20, 2009, 08:15 PM
    Shiang

Ah I see. Haha you could play with them and they won't get tired that easily! :)

Alrighty! I look forward for lots of learning! :D

Haha I did it to torture her. There is so many people here that play guitar, and only a little bit of piano. It's a difficult thing to find those who can play piano well.

Okie dokie, have fun. I'll be here for a pretty long time haha. :)

    Hi, Shiang!

Now, I'm back, if you have time to do anything here. I'm sorry that it took me so long to return!

    Do you have time?

    Thanks!

Hmm sure, but I will sooo get them all wrong.
