I was given birth control and it really helped my periods to become normal again and to come at the same time every month. My periods were really weird, they would skip and then last 15 days long and I would bleed way too much and then it would skip several months and I was so sick of it. Finally I was put on Ortho Tricyclen and then put on Ortho LO and it really helped but then the dr took me off it and my periods stayed regular for a while and went abnormal again.

Now my periods are still abnormal. I was about 110 pounds and when I gained a good bit of weight my period stayed normal for a few months after the weight gain and then started acting up but it is usually normal when I was at a good weight and had been normal for several years until months after I gained weight. I have other symptoms as well that would be impossible to go in to all of them but I know something is wrong with my but I don't know what.

Brandy, I am glad all is well for you. I just wanted to correct you on something you said.

A woman's cycle, well it is a cycle.

For a certain number of days a month a woman's lining of her uterus grows. A sort of padding for the baby the uterus is waiting for. During this time a woman fallopian tube extrudes usually one egg either from the right or left ovary. i.e. ovulation takes place. During this time the ovary follows the trail of the Fallopian tube during this time if a sperm is in the Fallopian area and by chance fertilizes the egg it will continue into the uterus where it will attach itself to the lining of the uterus, therefore developing the placenta.

If fertilization does not occur (sperm meets egg) the uterus sheds its lining (no baby this month) and the cycle starts anew..

I hope this clarifies it for you.

Of course! I know this already and I didn't say otherwise. I don't know where the answer went wrong here and where I said that that is not true about a women's cycle. All I did was give facts about what I have experieced and that is it..

[QUOTE=brandy681]From what I understood if you don't have a period then you can't be ovuating because that is what a period does it cleans the body to prepare for a baby a place to lay down. I think it is super rare to get pregnant without a period!! I have a cousin who hasn't had a period in two years and they have been actively trying to get pregnant and can't!!

Brandy this is where you went wrong. The period does not clean itself so the baby can have a place to lay down. The uterus needs the lining to "lay down"

You can ovulate without a period. There are drugs like clomid which help you ovulate one or many more eggs.

On your own it would be reare to get pregnant without a period. This is why I suggested she get a clear explanation as to why she is having this problem before she starts clomid.
