Hi I am new here and hope you could help, I am trying for a baby, I had my period (of a 28-30 day cycle)on July 31 so I used clearplan to determine my ovulation which happened on the 13- 14, been having sex day in day out since the beginig of this month. On August 18 I had bright red spotting which was frightening since my period is not due till at least August 30, used a pantyliner, couldn't sleep all night had cramps, 2 blood clots were passed, and 2 days of only brown colored spotting when I wipe nothing else. Now this is confusing because I've been reading about all this implantation thing, is that implantation? It couldn't be my period it is weird, light and only when I wipe. How can I know if my period is coming at the end of this month or was this my period?? Please if anyone can help me ease my mind :) thanks a million!

Okay, let's go slow here. Before I go on, you did not mention your age or any form of birth control you are using or have used and for how long.

That being said I will go on...

First of all, having sex day in and day out is a sure way not to get pregnant. Not to burst your bubble, but your hubby (hopefully) can only make a certain amount of sprem in a 24 hour period. If you have that much sex you are lessening his sprem count. When trying to conceive it is best to make love every other night.

Next... If ovulation occurred on the 13th, your unfertalized egg only lives for 24 hours. Which means that, when you include 6 hours of sleep during that 24 hour period, you only have an 18 hour window to become pregnant each month. With statistics like these it's hard to believe anyone gets pregnant!! :eek:

Implantation... Did you read my sticky about Implantation Bleeding? Implantation occurs after an egg has been fertalized and attaches to the uterine wall. Implantation bleeding has been studied and it has never been proven. Don't get me wrong, some women do, but that is usually as they are actually beginning their periods and the homone called hCG, which is the pregnancy hormone, actually stops the period.

Lastly... bright red blood is sometimes considered a warning sign, pregnant or not.

This couls possibly be a symptom of your period, however, it is my advice that you contact your doctor for an exam. Remember, we all have a whacko period once in a while.

To add more information... I am 18 and have been on the pill for about 2 years.
