It sounds like you may have bulimia. Of course, I'm no doctor and if you're concerned then please speak with one right away!

Yeah but I don't want to go to a doctor. I can't , then my family would find out and I don't want them to .

    Ok awkward question..
    Your weight?age?height?

She has a problem with anorexia and bulemia. She limits her food intake and throws up what she does eat. Size and weight have nothing to do with it.

Natalie, you may be a little shy and awkward but what would you rather do ; go to a doctor or die? I don't mean to be so blunt but an eating disorder can be fatal. They start small but become worse and worse, until your health and even your life are in jeopardy. Do you know who Karen Carpenter is? She was one of the most famous pop singers from the 1970s with a very promising career. She died from an eating disorder in her early 30s. She was, by nature, a little heavy. Unfortunately, like lots of young women in the entertainment industry, she felt pressured to control her weight and resorted to extreme means which lead to an eating disorder and ultimately cost her her life. You probably know who Judy Garland was, right? Similar situation ; slightly overweight, she was hounded by her producers to lose pounds. She resorted to attempts at self-medication which lead to severe substance abuse and her death at the ripe old age of 46! A very tragic end for one of Hollywood's most talented icons of her era. This is how it all begins ; pressure to control one's weight and live up to a Barbie-doll image, which in turns leads to eating disorders and substance abuse and I've already told you the rest. Please seek medical attention now!

Hello hon, I know you already got wonderful answers :) but I thougth I would add my thoughts too.

Talk to your doctor. Or your counselor. Or SOMEONE about it.

It seems like, even though you may not have one YET, you are Definitely on a slippery road to disaster.

Eat all three of your meals hon.

And just to let you know, skipping meals, and only eating one meal, will make you GAIN weight... your body will go into survival mode and STORE everythign it can.

The only way starving gets weight loss results, is if it goes on for so so so long that the body eventually begins to eat its self away... nto a very pretty picture...

What you are doing is very dangerous. If you want to lose weight a healthy way (I don't think you need to lose any according to your previous posts) contact your pediatrician.

There is no maybe about it. Either you take care of this issue that you obviously KNOW and ADMIT you have, or you Don't. The choice is yours. I'm sure that knowing you ignored our suggestions will be a great comfort to you when you are dying in the hosptial of anorexia or bulimea.

Good luck. I'm not posting here anymore...

I believe you are both bulimic as well as anorexic. The limit in food intake (trying not to eat anything except for dinner, suggests anorexia and the purging after dinner is a sign of bulimia. Shy or not, you need to seek medical attention. Eating disorders should be taken seriously! The long term affects are reason enough to seek help.. Trust me!
    Good Luck!

I think your being a curious teen. Although many have already warned you of the dangers I do want to tell you to stop.

If your looking to lose weight your really going the wrong way about it. First of all breakfast is the most important meal of the day since it jump starts your metabolism. Second, it really doesn't make sense to have a big meal in the evening before you bed, not to mention your body was starving all day so your body is going to save whatever it can get which means you'll just gain weight.

This is absolutely the wrong way to go about it and it may end up costing your life.

I hope you stopped playing this dangerous game, and eat healthier and exercise.

Natalie, you posted a question about your diet before not too long ago and I told you then that I thought you had some issues with your body image. Now the fact that you're wondering if you might have an eating disorder makes me think so even more. If I recall correctly, you were at a healthy weight, on the lighter end of body weights. And you were told then that only eating one meal a day is not healthy for you. That was a while back. And now this. So yeah, I think you might have an eating disorder. And yes, eating disorders can be deadly. You need your family's support right now. You really don't think your mom will notice when you start passing out? That's how my friends father finally realized his daughter was annorexic. She started passing out. Or, if they're not already, your bones will start sticking out from you starving yourself. You don't think your mom will notice? The path you're on is not a healthy one.

I don't believe there's anything wrong with you Natalie, there is nothing anyone can tell you now that you haven't already been told and your just brushing it off looking for more attention.Your just starting to annoy everyone now.So stop or go talk to your doctor.Everyone here is to nice to say this to you or maybe Im breaking a rule but it had to be said.

I know everyone is being nice . I do appreciate all the things people have said. Nobody else has too post any more thoughts if they don't want to . I didn't ask you to post anything that was your own choice , as it is everyone else's own choice .

Had to spread the rep holly, I agree with you. At first I really thought she ha an eating disorder. Now I'm thinking she just wants attention. She's been told repeatedly that she needs to eat, been given advice on what to eat, how much to eat, what to do to get help and she refuses to listen. She just keeps asking over and over again. I'm done posting on this one...

You have so many posts and so many replies so I just wanted to say that it sounds like you do have an eating disorder. The best thing to do besides getting medical attention is instead of eating one meal a day is eat smaller meals and healthy snacks throughout the day. With your biggest meal of the day take a vitamin B complex. And change your mental image of yourself to a more positive one.
Also think in terms of actual size in numbers rather than what you THINK you look like in the mirror. For example, instead of thinking I am fat see what your actual weight and size is
For your height. Say you are in your 20's (past your teen yrs) and you are 5'3'' and weigh 130 lbs you do not want to go below 110 or below a size 7 -(27 inch waist)

I think if you maintain that weight and eat healthy and stay away from any more eating disorders you should be fine.

Your height and weight is fine right now.

Take a multivitamin with your dinner and that should help your appetite a lot too.

Yes, you should. Have you finally began eating healthy?

To be honest no but I do have days where I eat normally.
  • Dec 2, 2009, 11:31 AM
    justcurious55

Well, that sounds like an improvement. But I wonder, what do you consider eating normally? Have you sought any help yet? Or talked to your mom?

Emm I amn't sure what I consider eating normally, more than I normally eat I guess. And no.

    justcurious55

Well. Eating more is an improvement from what you've described before. What's holding you back from talking to your mom? You obviously want help. Otherwise you wouldn't keep coming back here. I really think you should talk to your mom about this

    natalie1xxx

I just like coming here because it's nice to talk to someone about it,but I really don't like my mum .

    justcurious55

OK. Talk to your dad. Or an aunt. Or a grandparent. A teacher. I'm not trying to discourage you from talking to us here. But I'm confused why you keep coming back when you absolutely refuse to follow or take any of the advice that has been given over and over again. No on in their right mind is going to say anything different. No one is going to suddenly support you having an eating disorder and encourage you to continue the path you are on. And unfortunately none of us are there in person to help you get help. And you really haven't told us much as far as I can see. Only denial about having an eating disorder. Again, I am not trying to discourage you from talking to us here. If there's things that you need to talk about, go for it. And if that will help you, go for it. But you really need to understand that eating disorders are very real and very dangerous. If talking here helps, great, but understand that talking here is not in anyway a substitute for seeking treatment. From what you've told us, you do seem to have an eating disorder. You're not the only one. There is help out there for you but you have to be willing to go for it.
