    Husky Tractor
I have a 8 year old husky tractor. I had a problem starting it about a week ago and got it to turn over jumping it with my car after I let it sit for about 10 min. The battery is also brand new. Today I got around to changing all the belt because when I finally got it started it would no go. Now that I have the belts on I can not get it to start. Like I said the battery is brand new and I also tried jumping it with the solenoid with a screw driver. NO LUCK. When I do turn the key I get a small kick and that's it. What else can I try to get this thing going??

First check for seat safety switches and switches elsewhere. You cold also have a bad ignition switch test for power in and out with a volt meter.

To check the starter. Check the voltage to the starter by taking a volt meter and grounding the black probe to a good ground and touching the red probe to the starter terminal. Turn the key. If all 12 volts are going to the starter and the engine still will not crank, then starter must be repaired. If less than 12 volts are going to the starter, check for exposed areas in the wiring which could cause a partial ground or corrosion. Remove the corrosion, if any, and tape up the wire with electrical tape.

Just to refresh the "jump the solenoid" remove the wire from spade terminal. With a screw driver, touch the spade terminal and the hot side of the solenoid. If the starter turns, the starter solenoid is good and there is a problem in the safety switches.

Check the ground cable at the battery and where it connects to the engine or chassis of the power equipment. Replace if necessary cable if necessary.

The other catalysts here may be then new belt has changed things in pulley positions for safety switch to work right,
