How do I know, because I sell them in a retail store (which I will not say), have direct contact with a Dyson rep, and know everything I possibly can about them, oh and I own one too.
Also, ANYONE who says Dyson's are not worth the money or do not work good, is an idiot or owns a vacuum fix-it shop. Why? Because people who fix vacuums would be out of a job and business if everyone switched to a Dyson. That's the truth!
