RCA TV screen went black but still has sound.
When I turn on my 36" RCA TV model 36V55OT, after about 5 minutes the screen goes black. I can still hear the sound but there is no picture. Any ideas on what I can do to fix the problem. I already tried opening it up and using a compressor, I cleaned all the dust near the bulb and around all the components. It turns on and I get picture but only for a while. Then the screen goes black again. I'm thinking it's the bulb, but can't be sure. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have a 42 in RCA LCD 1080P and I have to change the channels and wait 5 seconds when I first power it up or it has a blank screen with sound. It only does this on HDMI inputs. So I would think it has to do with that.. .

I have to change the channel on the HD cable box or turn the HD cable box on and off. Sometimes I have to turn the TV off and on for another symptom, that I can't think of right now. I like the picture so much that I never occurred to me that something is wrong with doing this. One should not have to work around a $700 television. Also I got it for $599 last TGD BF sale.
