My future
So I'm looking into a lot of different careers. I want to find something that I'm interested in but I can't really find anything. I've tried lots of things but there's nothing that I really enjoy. The idea of having to find something you have to do for the rest of your life scares the fire out of me. What if I choose wrong? My parents say I have to go to college and I have to figure out what to do with my life by the end of this year. What can I do? How do I choose? Will I be able to find something that interests me to the point where I want to do it for the rest of my life?

What are some of your hobbies, the things you like to do. Those can be the career path you should take that way you will want to go to work because you like it. I always liked crafts and I became a cake decorator, I also paint and I have published art work. I even do party planning. So think of the things you like to do, and I'm sure there is a way to get paid for it. Let us know what your hobbies are if you still need help. We are here for you! Good Luck!

Draw upon what you already know about yourself. The saying really is true.. If you love your work you never work a day in your life. What are your likes and dislikes. Write them down on a sheet of paper. Then try to see how things are connected. Also have you talked to a career counseler yet?

I had/have this same problem too, but I'm told, just try something you think you can do.
I tried being a waiter because I thought it would be interesting but I found it wasn't what I expected in the end. My main intrests are drama and music, but where I live, you can't make a living off these things, but I can apply my drama skills to things like the tourism industry, and use music as a hobby.
So next year I think I'm going to enroll in a course in tourism.
I think the problem I had was that I just delayed thinking about options. I mean, all I ever knew was the life of school, not the workforce and when I finally had to enter the workforce I didn't know what to do, and I still don't
Get some qualifications, try some things, volenteer, use your connections and people you know... at least while your involving yourself in something you can decide if you enjoy it or not, and also get an idea of what job area your more inclined to...
Don't just delay yourself otherwise you'll end up stuck. I know.

There is a difference between your occupation and what you want to do in life.

If you choose a job that pays a million dollars and you aren't happy in it , your life will be miserable.
A career that you love may pay less, but will bring contentment.

Depends on the person. If your goal is to work with children (lets just use the example) then you have certain carrer choices that could lead you right into it. And if that's what makes you a happy person then they can be one in the same.
