We aren't dating but he is kind of like a fighting partner. He treats me like a girlfriend but also like a best friend. We have had our moments but have not made any sexual contact. Yes, it would a be a Very Bad Thing if you and he date. He could very likely end up in prison and be branded a sex offender for the rest of his life.
There are no laws governing dating. If your parents (both) approve AND you have no sexual activity (and I mean NONE) no laws are being broken.
That being said I can't imagine a parent that would allow their 13 yr old daughter to date a 22 yr old. Frankly I don't believe your mother agreed.
Also, I cannot imagine what a 22 yr old would have in common with a 13 yr old. I can't imagine what he would want except sex. He might be leading you on until he can get into your pants.

Keeping it secret is even worse because if something happens to you, and he might be the cause, your mom is the only one that knows and someone's bound to find out, then your friends will ditch you, and your life will be over. Its not smart, and I guarantee that he's not going to wait 2-3 years for sex if he's 22.
I don't think its OK for you to date him. Just be friends with him until you it 18, maybe then you can think about him, but right now, think about you, and what college or high school you want to go to, and what you want to do for a living.

I would report the gym. A gym, even a boxing training facility, that would allow a 13 yr old (whether male of female, but especially female) to "grapple" with adult males, needs to be closed up.

While you generally gave good advice here, I wanted to point out these two comments. The only people that say age doesn't matter, are people trying to justify a relationship that is wrong. Age very much matters. It matters less and less as people get older. To the point that when BOTH are mature adults, then it matters extremely little. But when you are dealing with children or young adults, especially when one is an adult and the other a child, then it matters a great deal.Quote:
