I'm in my third year of high school and i have a problem that has been ongoing and no matter what ppl say to these ppl they never leave me alone. MY freshman year there were these kids who pasted my face onto an animals face and tortured me about it than some other kids started calling me other animals and im so sick of hearing it and they just won't stop no matter what anyone says to them i try to ignore it but it just gets to me all the time and now even a teacher who im not sure if she knows ppl say it about me but she was saying something about it too and idk if she knew it was me they were talking about i really dont know what to do i want them to stop but i dont want nothing violent to come out of it and ive done everything i could its pretty much my whole high school that calls me these names not only that but ppl i dont even know hear their friends calling me that so they feel its ok for them to do it my actual friends and boyfriend dont call me these names they stick up for me when other ppl say it around them and some ppl i dont know know that other ppl call me these names but they dont call me these names idk what to do can someone please tell me ive tried telling counselors and teachers about it but it just seems to get worse and i go home and cry about it all the time because im sick of hearing it and they say the same stuff all the time like go back into your bat cave and stuff and i feel emotionally hurt cause of this stuff:mad:

What exactly are they saying? Also if you use puctuation and make sentences its a lot easier to read.

They call me things like a wombat, a dog, a bat and pretty much everything and they always tell me things like go back to your bat cave and stuff like and ask me how I like my dog food and what kind of dog food I eat

As far as going back to your bat cave. Take it as a compliment in your mind. That is where batgirl comes from. Other names are just that names. If they can't say your real name then don't pay any attention to it. They sound like first graders.

Still it gets annoying even when people laugh at it that don't even know you and I feel bad for my boyfriend people are always saying oh you know its wrong for a person to mate with an animal and stuff like that and saying that if someone was to hit me its animal cruelty and I don't want to sink to their level I'm tired of this they act so immature

Maybe take a tape recorder with you to school and record them when they say things. Then if your at a gathering where parents are near you can play it back. On accident.

They know the people do it I've told them and they called the school about it and I've even brought it up to the principals and stuff but they never did anything they gave few people detentions but that was about it and it made things worse

Then make some recordings of it and take it to your parents. From there they can take it to a lawyer and a lawsuit can be filed on your behalf.

Im not sure about that though like I said it's my entire school and I don't like that is there anything else I could do to make them stop I just feel like no matter what things will just get worse. I have this nightmare where when I graduate I get my diploma and I walk across the stage people will be calling me wombat and dogface and bat and stuff and its going to embarrass me I used to be bulimic because of this stuff and I got help for that and I'm not going down that road again I don't know what else to do

How did this all start in the first place ?

I dealt with similar behavior in school. Although, thankfully, it pretty much stopped before high school.

I found that thanking them, in a kind voice, tended to throw them off. I would also treat the nasty questions like honest ones, and answer them. They ask you what dog food you eat, tell them you prefer alpo, but purena will do in a pinch.

It doesn't erase the hurt that comes with the remarks. And it doesn't make them stop. But it can throw them off long enough for you to be on your way and out of earshot. It also takes the fun out of it for them if you don't seem bothered by it anymore.

Also, the tape recorder wouldn't be a bad idea. If taking it to the principal doesn't do anything, then you threaten to take it to the school board. Your parents could even threaten to sue the school for allowing the harassment to continue. It's possible that they would start cracking down on harassment school-wide if they think they're in danger of a lawsuit.

Well maybe u can try laughing with them.

Make a t-shirt with a picture of a Wombat on it and write "I'm a Wombat and Proud of it"

Sometimes if you just make a joke out of it the bullies lose interest knowing that you aren't upset by it.

When I was at school the bullies picked on the kids that reacted back... the ones who cried or got upset.
They left the kids alone that didn't seem bothered by their taunting because it became boring to them.

I would always advise to talk to a teacher first but seeing as how you have tried that it might be time for a different approach.

Add - To give you an example, in year 7 there was a boy who made up this song about me... it was called the "Feral Sheryl" song... it hurt... a lot, but after the tenth time I just started singing it along with him and laughing. He never did it again.

When I was in fourth grade a bunch of the kids started calling me ET. After awhile, I just started smiling and thanking them. When one of the finally asked me why I was thanking them and if I knew what it meant, I told them that it meant 'extremely talented.' they stopped a few days later.

Start doing some research on the animals they call you most frequently. Find things about them that you admire or find interesting. It's amazing how changing your perception of the insult can change everything.

Did you know that the US used dogs as soldiers until WWII? They even had ranks; private, lieutenant, captain, etc. they were trained to wear packs that carried vital equipment, like radios and radio wires, from one base to another. They followed nothing more than the scent of their handler and made their way through fire and minefields. Capturing a dog was seen as more important than capturing an ordinary soldier.

That would make you one of the most valuable, bravest, and smartest soldiers ever to serve.

Wombats are an extremely endangered species. They only live in a few places in australia. They build elaborate burrows underground, complete with twists, turns, and interconnecting chambers. They're marsupials, like the kangaroo. They are very strong, and single wombats have been known to dig through fence posts or push them over.

That would make you very special and rare, an amazing architect and maze maker, and extremely strong.

Besides, I think wombats are kind of cute.

I worked with children in different schools. What is happening to you is called bullying! It is against the law. Any form of name calling, taunting posting pictures and texting ugly messages on the computer or cell phone is called cyber-bulling. We have gone through this with one of our grandchildren.

You need to talk with the principle and the school counslor. Inform your parents and also inform the Superintendent of your school dstrict. It's not tattle telling, it's stopping these people from making your life miserable. Don't ever let yourself feel inferior because a few ignorant
People want to make themselves feel good by putting somebody else down..


Always remain calm when you are stating your case. Please let your parents know. If the superintendent doesn't do anything I would suggest going to the local media.

I talked to the prinicpal and stuff and they said that no one can do anything about what's posted on Facebook and myspace and that was it and I kept going back to them and these kids don't think of things like that I mean I tell them all the time oh you I'm proud to be a dog and stuff but they make things worse

That's horrible! Look sweetie, I am going to give you some advice. Start documenting the incidents. Go back and get what information you can obtain about your talk with the principle. Copy the images they post of you on your computer and send them by email to the Superintendent of your school. He is supposed to handle things like this.

Set up a meeting with him and if comes up with an excuse to ignore you
Then you tell him you're going to talk to an attorney and go to the newspaper and the TV and be prepared to do this.You are not alone. I know what it's like. Bullying and Cyber-bullying is a crime. Good luck and look at the websites on your states bullying laws and make copies of them. There is also a zero-tolerence policy in all schools. Read the handbook from your school. Hope I helped! :):)

I would just like to tweak one thing.

Start taking screenshots of the altered pictures when you find them. Include the entire window, so you can tell who's page it's on. Send them in with the email to the superintendent.

Then your principle apparently doesn't know what he's talking about. Take the facts you get about bullying to him and see how he reacts. Tell him there is a law against

What is bullying?

It makes them feel unsafe and think there must be something wrong with them. They lose confidence and may not want to go to school any more. It may make them sick.


What can you do if you are being bullied?
Coping with bullying can be difficult, but remember, you are not the problem, the bully is. You have a right to feel safe and secure.
And if you're different in some way, be proud of it! -STAND strong. Spend time with your friends - bullies hardly ever pick on people if they're with others in a group.

You've probably already tried ignoring the bully, telling them to stop and walking away whenever the bullying starts.
If someone is bullying you, you should always tell an adult you can trust. This isn't telling tales. You have a right to be safe and adults can do things to get the bullying stopped.
Even if you think you've solved the problem on your own, tell an adult anyway, in case it happens again.
An adult you can trust might be a teacher, school principal, parent, someone from your family or a friend's parent. If you find it difficult to talk about being bullied, you might find it easier to write down what's been happening to you and give it to an adult you trust.


What can you do if you see someone else being bullied?
If you see someone else being bullied you should always try to stop it. If you do nothing, you're saying that bullying is okay with you.
It's always best to treat others the way you would like to be treated.
You should show the bully that you think what they're doing is stupid and mean. Help the person being bullied to tell an adult they can trust.


Are you a bully?
Have you ever bullied someone else? Think about why you did it and how you were feeling at the time. If you are sometimes a bully, try to find other ways to make yourself feel good.

Most bullies aren't liked, even if it starts that way. Remember, it's best to treat others the way you would like to be treated.

Do you still have anything at all which will help you? For instance, old pictures of what they pasted in your yearbook? Friends who will stand up for you and tell what's been going on? Did you browse the internet to find the laws in your state against bullying?

I don't how you could go about getting them to send you what they have on their computers. We'll try to help you get it all worked out okay?
