I'm serious. I was supposed to go to dinner tonight with everybody because she's leaving tomorrow but I didn't because I already had dinner in my hands so she's probably mad at me thinking I should have been there anyway..

Yes you should have been there because its not about the food , its about the farewell.
If you give that for an excuse they are going to think it's a lame excuse or selfish and lazy of you.

I know so I told my dad I'll swing by to say goodbye but I got caught up in a show with my mom and it was late. Hopefully tomorrow I can see her
