When I was 12 I felt really over wieght to and now that I look back I really wasn't. I allowed my insecurities to stop me from joining clubs and meeting people. I bet your mom has felt the same way at some point oo so talking to her could really help. First I would get a journal and write down stuff you eat in a day (that helps you locate problems). Then think about it and think of specific things you want to improve both physically and mentally. THEN I want you to look in the mirror and pick ten things that you like (do not skip this part!). Then go to your mom and just let it out and talk about how your feelings and try to locate why.

Including her in your weight loss to would be a fantastic idea because she would keep you healthy and be a great support. My suggestions would be join a dance class or a sport or go on walks with your friends or your pet. And with each meal try to add veggies. Start your day off with oatmeal (add honey to make it taste good!) or eggs.

When I was your age I was one of the bigger kids and I didn't know what to do I was already involved in sports and actually didn't do any thing I was buying xl or xxl shirts then in about 7th or 8th grade I started getting taller and with that thinning out but I was still over weight in 9th grade I was surprised to see that compared to some kids in my now public high school as opposed to the small private school I went to before I was not that over weight and one day I noticed and other peoplr in my family noticed that I was not overweight any more now I'm in 10th grade and I'm 155lb 5.10ft and I'm running varsity track have a visible six pack and my arms are getting defined. All you need to do is just wait and watch what you eat like in moderation 2 scoops of ice cream mabey 3 not four like that ask yourself if you are relly still hungry before seconds I know this isn't exactly what you wanted to hear I know its not what I would want to hear when I was 12 but it's the truth extra excersize doesn't hurt either hope this helps
