I had a whirlwind romance kind of thing with a man I met while on vacation in FL. I was trying to get over a bad relationship. It was my last night there, so we found a place on the beach where there was no one around, he backed his car up and opened up his trunk so we could hear the radio. We were just sitting, talking for a long time. All of a sudden it started to pour rain so we thought we should go, but that song came on the radio and he asked me to dance right there on the beach. We were soaked to the bone... but who cares eh? :) Before I left for my flight in the morning, he gave me a CD with that song on it.

Road Trip!! I had just bought my "dream car" 65 Mustang--bright red of course :) My girlfriend and I started thinking we were just going on a cruise for the day! We traveled hundreds of miles that wkd, playing that song over and over again! Got home just in time to go to work Monday morning! Sooo tired (and hungover) but so worth it, and I'll never forget that song!

Driving out in the country with the perfect guy, turning the stereo up as loud as it would go, and dancing under a blanket of shimmery stars. Every time I hear this song, I'm transported back to that mountain-top, that beautiful moment.

Okay, starbuck8, you have way.. way too good of taste in music. I love your memories you associate with each song you have shared so far. You mention the beach I can picture that and it sounds wonderful. Did you ever stay in touch with him? You also mention your 1st car, I think girls never look at our first car that way, but guys I guess do. It sounds nice. My first car I bought used with 5000 miles on it and it was a 1991 Plymouth Acclaim. Nothing to write home to mom about but it was clean and a good running car. It cost me $5400.00 I bought it from an elderly couple that never drove it. How's that for an old memory? Just had to dust it off a bit. So you mention the memory with your girlfriend and that car? So your good taste in music, nice choice of cars and wonderful memories throw me off. Are you a male or female? If you are a male, you have wonderful surprising taste in music and that is refreshing. As the men I know, terribly taste in music. If you are a girl, you have a great taste in music and you make the rest of us girls look bad with your knowledge of cars and I need a couple of pointers.

What clough was talking about, music without lyrics, who has played in an orchestra or band at school? I was in the orchestra for years, many of which I played second fiddle. That was a very good thing. Now I appreciate interplay of different instruments. Bass and rhythm guitar, working with drums, then lead melody instrument/singer. Classical music is usually performed by musicians who read music, both notes and rhythm plus they have a conductor. When a rock group plays its selections tightly, like one person, wow. Many of them had classical training too.

Elton John's original band is amazing. Check out the album 11/17/70. It was recorded live, in a radio studio. The bass (Dee Murray) and drums (Nigel Olson) are indescribable and the other two, Elton and Davy Jones are so tight.

One of my favorite bands is Rage Against the Machine. I dislike the vocal style, but those guys put out music as if they were one person. They probably put in hours with one another and a metronome.

I grew up listening to classical music, but was allowed to pick whatever kind of music I liked. Thanks Mom and Dad.

Just to clear up the "Road Trip" song, haha! The story is true... I was just commenting on on Life1973"s saying that she couldn't pick up like she used to...that was the "wishful thinking" part, cause I would still like to believe I could!? "Come Pick Me Up", "Love Is Hell", "Now That You're Gone"... I enjoy pretty much every song. His most popular song is probably come pick me up, because it was in that movie Elizabethtown, good movie

Does anyone like the song "Put your records on"... I know it's a girly girl song, but when I'm not in a very good mood, that one really picks me up... and then I put my other fave "records" on :)
