Not a dealership, per se; an auto repair shop that sells cars and trucks on an as-needed basis.
I agree, a lot a dealers are extremely shady which makes it even harder when you're one of the little guys just trying to make an honest dollar. We've had one complaint filed against us with the DOT in the last 12 years and it wasn't even filed by the woman we sold the vehicle to; her brother forged her signature on the complaint form. All that aside, the DOT investigator came out, asked us some questions, we gave her the paperwork showing everything was legit. The investigator went back and told the customer that she had no valid complaint. I'd start there if I was the mother; it's free to call the DOT and like I said, she might be able to avoid the entire court process.
