I live in Maryland and we just started a sewer and drain cleaning business, I would like to know if I need to be bonded and if so when they do a background check what does and does not matter ?

No reason to be bonded unless you have some customer requiring it, if you employees are handling your money, you may want to bond them to protect yourself from them stealing from you.

If you are going to do contracts with government agencies you may need several types of bonds.
