Okay, let's post an ad on hoobly.com using that title.

I think that your welcome on your site would be good for the body of the ad.

I've attached a document here with additional keywords for you.

It's important to not look like we're using this site for advertising. By attaching the document, it won't appear on the Internet when people do searches for things.

Please let me know when you've formatted your ad, but haven't yet posted it.

    Thanks!

By the way, I needed to use Excel rather than Word, because the Word document was too large of a file to upload here.

    Thanks!

OK can you like give me a sample ad and where do I put all the keywords?

And it has the ad area just for Council Bluffs, Ia is that all I am going to get or can we change that to the whole US?

Let me go to hoobly.com and check things out. Have been having some computer problems in the last few minutes...

Like I already mentioned in post #42, I think that your welcome on your site would be good for the body of the ad.

Keywords would go at the bottom of the ad. Were you able to read all of the keywords in the document?

Clough I got to go soon it is 1 am and I got to get up at 7am

Okay, I have to go soon, also. I believe if you put the name of the city with a comma after it and then the full name of the state, you should be okay.

I'm going to delete your post with the actual ad in it. I've taken note of it. I know that you don't intend to be using this site for advertising, but since the ad is there, it will show up in searches.

Please hang on here for a few more minutes if you can.

Please do post your ad on hoobly.com.

    Thanks!

OK now will it only advertise for Council Bluffs, Ia on Google?
  • Nov 29, 2009, 12:10 AM
    Clough
What the location means is that's where you're located. It doesn't affect the exposure when people do searches on the Internet, unless you put locations in your actual ad.

What I meant was for you to put the whole welcome from your website at the beginning of your ad. And put the keywords separately at the bottom of the ad in another, separate paragraph. Please also put your first and last name as well as your phone number in the ad because that will make you look more credible.

    Thanks!

Whoops can I go edit the add?

I also thought that you were going to title it Fantasy and Gothic Gifts for Sale.

That's what people are going to be looking for, not so much the name of your business.

Please click on the following links to see how I've worded some of my Christmas ads.

Yes, you can edit the ad anytime.

Try typing Clough in a search on hoobly.com. You'll be able to see all of the ads that I have on it.

If you study and word ads you place on any site, similar to the way that I word any ads on any site, you'll get an idea as to how to word ads.

You'll see that frequently I'll put the names of surrounding cities, towns and counties as well as the names of Iowa and Illinois in my ads.

    Thanks!

If you do a search for that title on Google, you'll see that you're first! :)

So that people in any of the cities or these two states will find me looking for what I do, where I do it.

Here is a link to where I took off the last two words of the title to your ad, and your still on the first page in a Google search.

    Link

In that search, I'm seeing lots of other keywords and phrases that you could be using in your ads.

    Thanks!

Yes, usually I'm on here at about 10:00 P.M. on. Although, sometimes I do get started considerably later.

Here are some other sites that are great ones where a person can be a member and advertise for free!

All of the sites below, are where the information that you post on them appears to be permanent and without expiration. Almost all other free advertising sites have expirations. I actually still got some ads out there that are a number of years old where the information is now dated. I would like to get rid of those ads. However, on one or two of those sites, it seems like it's impossible to edit anything. Even though those sites might get excellent exposure, I now make sure that anything that I put on them is exactly what I want to be posted and so that the information won't ever become out-of-date.

    MerchantCircle.com | Find new customers.

Naymz: Over one million people use Naymz to build professional relationships.

    Relationships Matter | LinkedIn

I have no idea how old you are, but the site below is generally for people who are 40+, 50+ etc.
The Online Community for BOOMers | eons.com

All of the above sites get excellent exposure when people do searches for things on the Internet. They are also sites where it appears that the people running the sites want the content of their sites to be of a very high quality. So, doing things like putting a whole bunch of keywords in ads might be considered to be spamming.

If I knew what I know now about Internet advertising, hoobly.com would be the first site that I would use for advertising. With the proper wording, the ad can appear within minutes of a Google search. We found that out tonight. When I finally did a search for the title of your ad, yours was first in the search, and that was without doing a "vanity" search. Those other "permanent" sites, would be the next ones that I would join.

I'll discuss about other free advertising sites at a another time...

    Thanks!
