    What products lighten the body?
I've been using dr fred summit on my face and it changed about 4 shades what can I use on my body?

Whatever you use, you should put it on your body about two weeks before you put it on your face, the body takes a lot longer than the face to change and then adjust to the new color. Why don't u use dr summit on your body too?

But usually the products you use for the face are in such small quantities and so expensive!

Yeah true and very funny most skin lighteners are so small and obviously meant for face only, looks like the makers forget that some of us want an even tone skin from head to toe

How long does it take for bioclaire to work? I have been using it for six days. No results so far. I use the soap, cream and oil just to lighten my body not my face.

    naijachik,

Most of us now know that Bio claire is harmful and you should be using it with exteme caution, if at all. However as you are still using it, I will let you know that I have used it and yes it did give dramatic results for me, but I also saw thinning of my skin with veins clearly visible and very tender areas. The lightening came after a few weeks and fortunately once I stoppped using it, I didn't appear to have any lasting damage, but I know others have had a more unpleasant experience. Hope you don't have any problems , but if possible, please think about using something else. Good Luck.

Thanks for the advice maharani but what else can I use for my body. Something that would work and not waste my money. Like I said I have only started using bioclaire. I avnt gt any results from it yet.

This is hard for me to advise, as I have tended to just concentrate on my face and I only used BC on my legs as it was so economically priced. Maybe another member can suggest something that has worked for them.

Have you tried movate, where are you located
  • Nov 29, 2009, 05:18 PM
    Golden_Girl

But movate is conaminated with steroids and the risk of getting stretch marks due to the thinning of the skin will make the skin look bad and will never go away unfortunately.

I know warnings are rarely adhered, but I'll post anyway for the safety of others whose desire is to avoid the steroid clobetasol propionate due to the sickly side effects it gives. They use at their own risk with no regrets and that Ask Me Help Desk does not promote this product in any form:

Doctors list the side effects of bleaching creams as:

    1.Skin cancer

"Dr John Meadows, the hormone specialist who treated Gina, said: 'It was a truly shocking case. Although I have seen similar cases, this was the worst. First, her skin was permanently disfigured. But most alarming was that her adrenal glands had stopped producing one of the hormones essential to life

... An Observer reporter asked a man standing behind the till for a skin-lightening cream. He offered two: Movate, which is made in Italy, and Hyprogel from Germany. Both contain the steroid clobetasol propionate, the chemical that nearly killed Gina"

... Asked why they were selling illegal creams, the shopkeepers pleaded ignorance. 'I did not know it was wrong,' said Mohammed of MJ News. 'Our customers ask for it and we buy it from a supplier. It is very popular."

    Thanks!

Oh sorry, I just re-read your question. I had a lot on my mind. Did you get the pm I sent? I'll repost it:

I'm using only Hq 4% I get from All Day Chemist. I did recently write a post along with links on how to compound your own Hq 5% by using the Kligman's Formula, which I heard can also be purchased. I know that just 4% or 5% hq used along with retin-a can lighten a brown skin individual several shades lighter up to a complexion similar to Mariah Carey and Hale Berry. I have alerady lightened 2 1/2 shades and it's easier to purchase. I never formulated Hq, but pasted the information:

    http://dermatology.cdlib.org/rxderm-...depigmentation
"The exact method of preparation of what I was using with great success was combining in order.

    Water 3ml
    Hydroquinone powder (Kodak) 5gm
    Retin A 0.05% cream (DNS) 15gm
    Lidex cream (DNS) 15gm
Eucerin cream (DNS) qs ad 50 gm

The HQ is dissolved in the water first, then the creams are combined, and finally all are mixed thourougly by hand. This makes 50gm of a very nice stable bleaching cream which emulsifies nicely. The fluocinonide content is 0.015% and use is carefully monitored by giving the patient 10gm jars at a time. I have never seen atrophy or steroid induced rosacea from use of this, but it is a concern of course. The patient is
instructed to apply at hs and use high SPF sunscreen every AM."

You can check into reading more about this 6% hq, I heard of it but know little aboout it. This one does cost more:

Thanks Jasmynn, but I do not think I'm wise. I'm just trying to be more informed and inform others, thanks to those who warned me when I first came aboard.

Possibly, you may have to call around and ask if they carry that type of soap. I would think filipino and south east asian stores may carry them.
