I used melederm for a few dark spots on my face and it helped a lot.
I have heard of Cosmelan but I think its for people with extreme skin pigment problems. If you need something really strong, Cosmelan might be good for you.

Thanks NikkiS:)
I think I do need something stronger as I'm not just looking to lighten a few shades. I tried a prescription of 5 % HQ in the past which didn't really help, so I guess this Cosmelan is my only other choice.
Would melederm get rid of or lighten freckles?
No cream will get rid of freckles. Trust me. Maybe try 4% hydroquinone to lighten them up a little bit. But they will always be there.
The only reason why I am looking for a cream to lighten freckles is because I was told I can't have laser treatment to remove freckles. I have lightly tanned skin, and so laser treatment would result in white freckles on my nose.
Any other ingredients I should be looking out for other than hydroquinone? Its banned in the UK.
How are the results coming along ?
I am having good results so far. I am using it on my bottox and some age spots on the face and it looks to be lightening a little more each week.
Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven't posted for a long time, I have been busy catching up on my studies but I just thought I would update you on my progress with melederm.
I can safely say that this cream has lightened my skin by one shade over 2 months of use so its quite slow, but I'm not complaining as I like the results.
People comment on me looking healthier but I know its because my skin is less patchy now, and more hydrated. I have nearly finished my second jar now as I only apply it at night. I will certainly be ordering more very soon.
Let me know how you all are getting along with your skin lightening.:)
Glad to hear its working Littlegenie. Where exactly did you use it?

* Are too soft and don't show evident results in a short period of time: I don't want to spend money on something that doesn't make really visible results. Most cheap over the counter products ligthen a bit, but not enough for who has melasma, just for those that want to even their tone, but don't really have defined spots.
* Are too harsh: At the same that I want an effective treatment I don't want it to be too harsh. If you stress your skin while treating melasma, you will have excatly the opposite effect. The derm layer of your skin will split from the epiderm layer. The hyperpigmentated cells will drop to the inner layer and your melasma turns into dermal. This form is much, much harder to treat, takes longer an usually doesn't disappear completely. In this I include TCA peels, green apple peel, glycolic peel and many others names. They make your skin renew, because they literally burn your skin.
* Have side effects: Toxic products that are very effective with melasma but have large amounts of toxic ingredients that enters your body through your skin and have side effects on your organs. For example, like Jiaoli that has mercury is not good for me.
* Have rebound effects: Treatments that are effective while you are using the product, but when you stop and without being any reason at all for new brown spots to be created and melasma comes back, sometimes even darker, these ones are not for me either.
* Are photosensitizing: One of the side effects is increases your skin sensitivity. Even after treatment stops, the smallest amount of sunlight (and light from some lamps) are enough to create brown spots.
After putting aside some treatments, the Mesoestetic Cosmelan Pack treatment seemed to be the best choice of all. It is effective, works on any fitzpatrick skin type (because it lightens your skins up to what tone your skin is genetically determined, not more), can be done any time of year, can go to the beach, can wear make up. The only no was the price. A bit expensive. Doctors charge from $700 to $1500. Until something better comes along, this my my product election.
Take care.
Christina.

Where do u get benoquin from and is it harmful like hydroquinone?
Has any one discontinued its (meladerm) use after good results and it all reveresed back.
Do one has to continue using it.
I am a 45 yr old Chinese woman with pale skin and lots of freckles, and also in the last 3 to 4 yrs, have age spots appearing on my arms and elbows. I don't know if this is a case of melasma but I want to just lighten my freckles and age spots but not the skin generally as I am already quite pale. I have contacted Civant and they said that Meladerm is right for my purpose.
I have now used Meladerm for 2 weeks and have followed the instructions religiously. The cream is white, smells nice, smooth when you first apply but gradually becomes a bit sticky as it dries on the skin. It is also probably too rich on my skin and caused some breakout which is unusual for me, but it is only minor so I am not too bothered about it. However, I must say that so far I cannot detect any change at all to my face although I will continue to finish the bottle. If I notice some improvement I will continue to use it for 3 months and will report again here.
I have now used Meladerm for 8 weeks. Unfortunately I have not detected any improvement in my freckles/dark spots or in my skin tone :( I hope other people have more luck than I have with this product. I will not buy another bottle when the current one finishes. The only thing I will say is that a bottle seems to last quite long. I use it twice a day on my face and I think there is enough to last another 2 weeks at least.
Hi, I've been using the meladerm cream now for about 3 weeks I can see some improvement but slow, I think it takes time, I'm blond with a lot of freckles too much sun, I hope it works they say it takes at less 2-3 months for full results. I will let you know how it goes, so far so good!
I need a make up that's covers dark spots on face
