    What about a combo of

Monobenzone and solage (MENQUINOL AND tretinoin)

What should someone start off using to lighten up a bit and then lighten up alot until I am light skinned and then use for a more permanent effect.

Do combined both would be really, really stupid. You'll damage your skin severely, probably beyond repair. You would be combing a lightening agent with a depigment agent. The tretenoin in Solage keeps the mequinol from depigging the face... use just the mequinol and it is the same as monobenzone. Use one or the other...

There's so much confusion around this place because people use the word "lightening" and "depig" interchangably...

I can't find a place online that sells the Solage so I think I am just going to guy the Mequinol and combined it with my tretinoin I already have.

EDIT: scratch that, I found a site that sells Solage...but I'm not paying 90.00 so I'll just make my own.

Hey, I am willing to pay $90! What is the name of the website? It would have been cheaper with prescription from a pharmacy here. But, dermatologists will not write it for skin lightening purposes!!! only for skin disorders....... If I was in India now, I know they would write me a prescription. Anyhow, will u please post the website???? Thank u very much!!!!

Go to goldpharma, but they sell it as mequinol alone, without the tretonin.

I agree with the person above, but on Golden Pharma the mequinol is 10% not 2% so be careful but here is the Solage if you insist.

Buy Solage (mequinol/tretinoin) at Online Canada Pharmacy

The site said they need a valid prescription, do we really need a prescription or just tell them what we need it for?

I was thinking the same. I have tried to purchase items like this from these type of companies before in the past and have always been requested to fax a copy of the prescription before they would go ahead with the order.

Do you think the company will call the doctor about the prescription to see if it's valid or would automatically process your order?

I lookd into that, I was going through the steps like I was going to order it and it was letting me check out and it never asked for a prescription order... so I don't know... I doubt it. And if they do you could always make something up, I do that all the time when I order contacts... they don't care.

Lol... yeah it's good then that they did not ask you for a prescription. But, since the s&h is so high, then it's probably best to buy in bulk? Do you use colored contacts? I thought of getting some again sooner or later, but I never tried getting them online.

Yes, but you can get colored contacts at most beauty supply shops. I don't know how much the s&H is for the Solage... but it doesn't matter because I'm not spending 90.00 on anything!! Being lighter is just not THAT serious to me... I won't even use Makari... its ridiculously expensive.

I know that's right, $90 is a lot. That's close to the price of what I would spend on a Makari order.

Which product are you referring too, the makari or the mequinol/tretinoin? If it's the makari, it was able to lighten the spots on my face quite a bit and even and lighten my skin tone. But, it did later on give me a few acne bumps which left another mark.

Mequinol works, but its suppose to be used at 2% with tret for lightening... mine is 10%... so I have used it VERY sparingly, if used incorrectly it can depig, its much more stable than mono but its still scary... I have decided to just use a higher % compounded HQ... I just don't want to wake uo with a huge white patch on my face.

I lightened a shade from the mequinol itself with tret, I don't know how long it took, I don't pay too much attention to my shade color, I look at my hyperpigmentation, that's why I got it. If you would like to see before and after photos of me, you can PM me. But I was lightening prior to using mequinol so don't get too excited by my results because meq didn't do all of that haha

dessaml, how's your lightening going? What percentage tret and mequinol are you using? Do you mix the two creams together and then apply? I'm thinking of trying it. Thanks :)

The tret is 0.1% the meq is 10%, my lightening it going just fine but I don't use the meq so much because it scares me. I'm just experiementing and hoping it doesn't wreck my skin, so far so good! And yes, I mix the two.

Hey reddiamond, what's tonique. I no what you mean about mequinol, sound like mono but less harsh. What % were yo thinking of using?

Is like this natural skin care lighteners. It kind of reminds me of the fairandflawless stuff. Both seem like they work but are so expensive. That's why it's taking me a while to make a decision.

With mequinol, it is known to lighten. But from what I have read so far, it's known to make the skin sting and burn, potential white spots possibly may appear on people of color. If you do decide to try it, best to try a low percentage and do a test patch for a period to see how your skin reacts to it.

I am using mequinol and the percentage that I am using is about 8-10% on my face and it works well. My face use to be way darker than my body and now it is lightening up very well. I have not had any white patches at all. I use the mono on my body and mequinol on my face because the mono is too strong for my face. I would only recommend mequinol to be used in a low % because it does sting a bit. I want a even complexion and I'm just trying to lighten a few shades. I mix my own powder but I want to buy the actual cream instead from gold pharma. Has anyone in the US bought from them? I have tried registering from their site but it won't allow me to register for some reason.

Boy does it burn, and when used with the tret it burns double... but it does work. No white spots but I use it so sparingly... im paranoid of this stuff!
