Why not try a 4% hydroquinone and Retin A combo? You need more than a peel to lighten those area's you need a good lightener as well.

I'm not sure about using a TCA peel on the body, if so use the 12.5%

Thanks I'll try the hq and retin a and see.

I cut back on using likas papaya soap on my face, too strong maybe because I'm using the retin-a as well. So, I'm using it just for the body including the neck instead.

Is likas better than kojic acid soap? I used to use kojic acid soap on my face in the past but it made my face look dull.. does likas soap help a lot with acne scars?

Well, the Likas is only papaya (papain). And the Diana Stalder is papaya and kojic acid (made from malting rice). Both are good. I believe the Likas is helping to clear my acne, unsure if it's responsible for lightening my spots. I think the retin-a/hq gel has been helping mainly with lightening the spots and w/my acne (retina).

Hi, TCA is not good for African American skin and the percentage you are using will be too low to see results. I would recommend glycolic acid or lactic acid for African American skin in a percentage of 35%-40%. It works really well but you will look like h3ll at first!!

Nah, a 12% is safe enough to do at home, that is extremely superficial peel, that won't scar you unless you leave it on longer than you're suppose to... 20% and higher you should see an estheticien or a dermotologist.

Not with a lactic acid... lactic acid does not peel the skin, it sloughs and creates cellturn over but the skin itself does not peel. I do 70% peel.

You are supposed to start with a low percentage of the TCA peels and work your way up to the 18% or 20%, etc. You should be starting at like a 10%.
