Blower Fan stays on when it should not
New Amana heat pump system: outdoor unit ASZ140481A, indoor unit (in attic) AEPF426016B + TXV. Thermostat: TotalTouch P286-200.

When fan setting is FAN AUTO and the system is not cooling or heating, the fan can come on and stay on for hours, or the fan stays on after heating/cooling stops. The fan used to be on (hours or days) and off (hours or days) but now it seems to be on all the time. The speed used to be various and now seems to be high all the time.

The guy who installed the system replaced a circuit board in the indoor unit, but the problem persists. He thinks the thermostat works fine.

How can the fan be on when it should not? What to check (other than the circuit board)?

    Thank you for your help.

That unit has a variable speed motor I believe. You better find someone with the proper tester for that GE motor. It could be a problem on the end bell of the motor or circuit board not set up correctly.

Thanks. The problem was loose connection to the motor (from the circuit board).
