    New Kitten! Need Answer ASAP!
Please help me! I have about a 1.5 yr female old cat who is my pride and joy baby but I was tempted at the pet store today and brought home a male kitten. My cat is not happy and it's bringing me to tears thinking that I have upset her. Will she get used to the new kitten or should I take it back? It would break my heart to bring him back because every animal deserves a good home but I can't stand to think that my cat thinks I love her any less. Please help asap because it is really upsetting me and if I have to bring him back I would like it to be today.

I just wanna make sure because the cat I already have is my baby and I love her to death, and she is full of personality and is completely dependant on me and I dont want anything to change in our relationship (I know this sounds silly but I am so into animals) and I would hate for her to become the y older cat that isnt my baby anymore. Any other opinions??

It's usually best to introduce the new cat to the old in neutral territory - some place that the old cat doesn't think of as "hers." Then once they know each other a bit better the transition home isn't as hard. The good news is that you have a male and a female - they'll get along a whole lot better than if it they were both male!

I had an old neutered Tom for 7 years before I found another female kitten, he was used to being the king, at first he hated it, he was extremely mean to other cats that came around our house fighting and chasing them away. This is how I handled introducing them. I would keep the baby in a separate room and let him go to the door and sniff it. Sometimes I would put the kitten in a carrier and bring it out with the entire family including tom.. we would give him special treats and pet him ( so he would associate good things with the new kitty) also when he would eat I would sit by him and hold the kitten. ( so he could see his food was not in danger) In about a week I started letting the kitten down when he was around, he would not go after the kitten, but if it came to him he would hiss and try to slap it, this went on for about 2 months. This was 3 years ago, they have never been great friends ( tom is not an animal loving cat) but he accepts them now, also I bring in a lot of strays to re-home and now he just accepts that as life and we rarely have any problems. This has also helped him to be nicer to outside cats less fighting and less vet bills. Good luck it will all work out

My female dog got pregnant. Before that, though, we gave her a rabies shot. Now she is having puppies. But, every puppy she's having is already dead. Is it because of the shot? How can it stop?
