    Double taps and splices
I have a panel that is outside with a 110 receptacle attached directly to the panel. I want to add a two more receptacles to this circuit for a total of 3 receptacles. What I would need to do most likely is ether do a double tap on the breaker or have a splice in the panel. I am sure that double tapping is a violation of NEC. But what about splicing?

    Thanks

What is meant by mounted directly to the panel? Where do you plan to mount the additional receps?

Note: Most breakers are listed to accept a single conductor. But they do have some breakers that are listed to accept two conductors. Check your breaker listing. (NEC 110.3 B)

You can splice inside a panel, as long as you have adequate space: Spacing so that the conductors do not fill over 40% of the cross-sectional area of the space, and splices and taps do not fill more than 75% of any cross section (NEC 312.8). Yet, for your job, I see no reason why you would want to tap, or splice. Get back to us with your answers...

No water from any taps [ 4 Answers ]

I am on a well and septic. 2 days ago, the water was sputtering from the taps. Yesterday, there was no water at all. We were able to use, it seemed, whatever was left in the holding tank, as each toilet had a flush left in it, and a very tiny stream of water came out in the bathroom. We do not...
