VIrginia eviction law and process time
Hi everyone, I live in southwest virginia and I am in a situation where my landlord will not repair anything in my home and I am tired of it. I thought about just not paying rent and saving it up for a couple months so I can afford to rent a new place. I am concerned though as to how long it would actually take him to evict me. I have heard it could be as quick as 5-30 days and I have also heard that it could take much longer (up to a year) because I have children. Can anyone give me a good feedback and opinion as to what I need to know and should do? Thanks everyone

    Hello sw:

I depends on lots of things, including the efficiency of the landlord AND the courts. In my experience, you'll have about a month.
