    How to wire a new honeywell thermostat
    Hi there honeywell rth 5100b
    I am getting heat with fan but the ac compressor not coming on for cooling,fan does though

    I have 5 wires coming out of wall to thermostat

    White
    Red
    Yellow
    Green
    Black

    Connected all wires from wall except black to thermostat
    w- I connected the white from wall
    R -with jumper rc I connected one wire the red from wall
    Yellow to y on thermostat
    G to green from wall
    And where does the black wire go?

    Go to your air handler and see where the wires are connected there and post back.

    Air handler?

    IS THAT THE OUTDOOR COMPRESSER FOR AC?

    I tried the old thermostat and it still works

    Basically with 4 wires no yellow

    Where is the blk wire connected at at the air handler (inside unit or furnace?)

    Not sure have furnace top door off but I see a black wire connected to a round device,
    Other then that not sure
