When the temperature is 0 degrees Celsius, sound waves travel through air at approximately 332meters per second. For each degree Celsius that he temperature increases, sound travels approximately 6 meters per second faster. How can I write an equation to calculate the rae at which sound travels? Also how can I construct a graph to display the relationship between sound and temperature? And about how fast does sound travel when the temperature is 15 degrees Celsius?:confused:

I think it may be this: Where Y = degrees in question.

speed of sound = 332 + ( Y x 6)

eg: for 0 degrees, (Y=0)

=332 + (0 x 6)
=332 m/s

for Y = 15 degrees
=332 + (15 x 6)
=422 m/s
