    Gross but True!
I need some help or actually my female lab does. She is the queen of poop eating. I gave her that title this eve. She has always had a liking to poop. We tried adding all those things to he food to keep her from eating it. We even gave it to our other lab. But today was just the worst.

My male lab was wandering the yard looking for a place to poop. As he is squatting to make his poop, just as it was coming out the female went up behind him and ate it as it was coming out.

That had to be the most disgusting thing. I called my vet and all he could do is laugh. When I hung up he was still laughing. What am I to do??

It appears that she has a dominance issue with your male if nothing you put into food or have tried, will stop her. Is your yard fenced in? How old are your dogs? What kind of schedule are they on? Do you work outside the home? Whatever background you can give on your dogs along with your schedule might help in trying to figure out a reasonable course of action. This is a bit of a toughie. The only way I can think of to keep it from happening is to have them take their potty time separately and scoop up his poop. I don't know if that is possible for you to do. You might want to invest in one of those small metal trash cans & a pooper scooper. Put them in a convenient area in the yard, put a liner in the trash can & dispose of his poop. If you don't have a yard & you have to walk them, you may have to walk them separately to avoid this. If your female is young and you do this, in time, it may subside. The other alternative is, if you have a yard, keep her on a long lead when he is taking his potty break. You can step on the lead to hold her back & give yourself time to scoop it up.

Maybe someone else will have another idea or maybe DocWill knows of some other medication or food treatment that can be used.

Since Aster retired and came back to live with us at 10 in 2003, we have had trouble with some of our puppies cleaning up after her. I have worked at separate potty times and cleaning up after her. At least the chief damage is to the owners' stomach. You are giving the additives to the other dog, or both dogs?

Have you tried pineapple juice, canned pumpkin, Deter, and Forbid?

My female java is ten and I think I'll just have to walk her on the leash. I'm tired of picking up regurgitated poop in my home.
