My house has a basement and 2 stories, the basement toilet backs up about every 8-10 months and I get a gurgling noise when my sink or shower drains on the first floor I'm sure this isn't normal but I can't figure out why this problem keeps happening. Please help.

Ok well it started with me taking a shower this afternoon. The water was draining really slow... I didn't think too much of it. Well as time went on the toilet began to back up as well and now when we try and plunge the toilet the shower floods. Any suggestions?
