When best to add the ice?
Suppose you enjoy a hot drink in the morning and you see use ice to cool it. You are late getting up and have to get ready to meet your friend who is coming to pick you up in 10 minutes time. You pour the very hot liquid into the cup and have a certain amount of ice to add. You want it to be as cool as possible in 10 minutes time. Is it better to add the ice now, get ready and then come to drink it after 10 min, or will it be cooler if you get ready now, add the ice after 9min and then drink it after the ice has completely melted? Write down which alternative you think will be cooler after 10 minutes, explain why.

Well, after 9 minutes, the hot drink will probably be cooled to somewhere near room temperature, so you add the ice then and it will be cooled to less than room temperature.

If you add it at the beginning, then the ice will just cool it to room temperature more quick.
