    Debt repayment
Yes I lent my ex a substantial amount of money with the understanding that it would be paid back. When we broke up I emailed this person just to remind them that still owed me this money and that I was collecting it. I have emails from them agreeing that yes they owe me this money. I agreed to be patient about the repayment but that was also approx. 4+mths ago. Well push has come to shove and my patience has just about run out. Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated. I live in Ontario Canada.

In a "he said-she said" scenario cases are often won on credibility. Any evidence you have to support your claim, including e-mails from the debtor, will help you.

There are many things to know about taking someone to court and they are too numerous to list here. If you are looking to represent yourself then we suggest you visit the Ontario Attorney General's website at Ministry of the Attorney General - Home.
