    Credit Card Debt
    Well first I'll start by saying I love on Tx. I got a call today about a sears visa card I used to have . I made payments on it, but then got pregnant and quit working. Now they want payment and I don't work and don't own anything what so ever my partner is supporting me at the moment and we cannot afford to pay this debt. If I get sued what will happen. I mean I don't own anything. I forgot to say that I owe a little under $6000. Can I go to jail? I'm scared and the woman I spoke to said that I had lost my rights to mail in payments that I would have to use moneygram. All I have is a joint checking and savings account and even then I have no money in either of them.

    First of all you can not go to jail ,but they can sue you and if they win a judgement they can attach your bank accounts Check on the sol in your state These collections people are low lifes and their job is to scare you any way they can! Do not worry about it
    If you do not own any thing they can't get any thing!

    Thanks for your answer. I haven't used that card since 2001 or 2002. So its been awhile.
