    Interesting scenerio
I returned some merchandise without a receipt, I was refunded an amount larger than I paid. I didn't fight the amount, who would? I then sold the gift card on eBay and it was stolen at the post office and partially used before the store blocked it. I turned the info over to the USPS Investigators and later after talking to the security department at the store, they accused me of lying and having a part in the theft. They made several false accusations towards me and now they will not return the remainder amount and they said they will seek legal actions against me. I need not remind anyone when they return an item without receipt and they paid 50.00 and it rings up last sale price 10.00 you only get the 10.00. Is this any different but reversed?

Without the receipt, if you bougt it on sale, the store does not know this but would ( if they give a refund without a reciept) give the current price on the item, which could be higher. That is why almost no store gives a refund without a receipt.

As for as the gift card ( you sold it on eBay? ) never heard of that, so yes, something in that just seems fishy to me because a gift card has cash value, so why would anyone sell it for less than its value.

So yes If I was still a police officer, and you came in with that story, you would also be the number one suspect, does not mean you are, but you would most certainly be the first to investigate.

And stolen at the police office, that itself seldom happens, But it sounds like it will be up to the store at this point.

    Hello walmartdude:

And, your question is what?? Are you right?? I don't know. A better question is, do the feds think you're a crook?? I think they do. Does it matter too much whether you think you're right, if the feds think you're wrong?? Uhhhh, nope.
