    Vehicle abandoned on my property
I was renting a parking space in my yard to someone at a very good price. He has not paid in over ten months and has only returned 2 of my numerous calls by leaving messages. I want to be paid and I want his car out. Someone told me I could put a lien on it, announce it in any paper, and then get title to it so I could sell it. The residential property on which the car is parked is in Queens, New York City. Frankly, I do not want the city to tow the car, auction it off, and make a profit from my generosity to the car's owner (a friend of a neighbor) nor should the city profit since I am the one who has stored this car at my inconvenience. What are my options?
    Thanks so much!

    Hello T:

About the only option you have is to sue them in small claims court. You're not going to get title. The city won't take it unless you put it in the street. Then the owner will sue you. If you want it gone, you're going to have to pay to have it removed. And, without the title, you're going to have to pay to have it stored.
