In short my husband and I decided this mth to expand our family to #4 child. My last Menstral period was 8/5/07 so according to my ovulation calendar my fertile dates were between the 18th- 23rd, with the 22nd being my ovulation day. Well we had unprotected sex on the 16th, 21st and 22nd, I have not been on any kind of birth control for 4 yr's (we just use condoms). Our first daughter was an accident (but the best blessing), and our 2nd daughter we conceived on the first try, but the 3rd we conceived 2 months after stopping birth control (which I know is very common). Today I have had a very odd colored discharge (nothing like I've ever experienced before) it is a light brown color with a tinge of pink to it. It happened this morning as I had been standing for a while and now it appears to have stopped.(although I'm trying not to stand for to long as I don't want it to happen again it was not much at all, just very light. My next period is due on the 3rd of June. Could I be experiencing "IMPLANTATION SPOTTING" ? I had a normal pregnancy with my first 2 girls, conception, implantation and no further periods, but with my 3rd I had break through spotting not long after I found out I was pregnant till about week 8. It was a very dark brown burnt color, nothing like what I experienced this morning. We are so hoping I am pregnant. Can anyone shed some light on this situation for me? I think it may still be too soon to take a home pregnancy test but a lot of sites I have looked at have said that after an implantation Hgc is then detectable, I'm afraid if I do test so soon it will more than likely be Neg and then I will be devistated early than I may need to be, especially if I am pregnant and it's too early to pick up the Hgc. Please help!!

Ok first... relax... take a deep breath and let that stress go you don't need it... Next, I think you may be jumping the gun on pregnancy. My bet is that during foreplay your hubby was using his finger to warm things up so to speak. The spotting my guess would be a small cut caused from a fingernail that needs to be trimmed... The discharge is probably from your body trying to repair that small cut. The brown discharge is probably old blood. The standing up probably made it open up a bit again and that's the spotting while standing... If you do miss your period however I would test. You've been through the drill before, first morning urine and all that... I hope this helps a little...

I had some brownish/tan discharge for my first month of pregnancy. I even had a pink discharge at about 7 weeks, which really freaked me out. I do not know about before I could test because I was not expecting to be pregnant. It's kind of scary not knowing why we are bleeding or having odd discharges. If we cut our arm we can see it, it is not so easy with our insides. I agree with myth we assume that the discharge has something to do with a pregnancy and it very well may not have anything to do with pregnancy. I would not test until the day of your missed period unless you go for a blood test. Remember knowing know won't change anything. The best you can do is take prenatal vitamins and staying away from alcohol and other things you avoid while pregnant.
