    UTI now Cystitis and pregnant
I am 7 weeks pregnant 3 weeks ago I was diagnosed with a UTI I was put on some antibiotics but they didn't work so I went back to the Dr who gave me some other type of antibiotics, this time sending my sample of to be tested further.

These antibiotics eased the UTI but I don't think it completely cured it and within days it all flared up again so yet again I went back to the Dr who told me the reason why the infection was not going is because I was not taking the right antibiotics, but the right ones I needed I could not take as I'm pregnant, so he just upped my dose of the last antibiotics I was taking.

To be honest for days things eased quite a lot then yet again it all flared up again, back to the Dr with another sample, told to bare with it until the results came back, the results were in today NO infection so now the Dr has said its Cystitis! Yet my syptoms feel just like the UTI did.

In fact the only syptom I have is when ever I open my bladder it feels like I need to go again straight after, though I have no urine left, I have no pain, no burning, nothing.

I was not given anything for the Cystitis as I can't have anything as I'm pregnant all I can do is flush it out, well I have been and nothing is improving.

This is really getting me down, I spend most of my time crying, I'm also worried I'm harming my baby with all these infections.

First off get another doc. Bare with it, screw him. You should be on a sulfer based drug for up to 14 days that will take care of any infection you have. You need antibiotic for a longer period to wipe it out your doc is doing a deservice to you

I must say if you are pregnant there are actually only two types of anti b they can give you that are safe for you and baby.
Its also not advisable to take them for long periods are you drinking plenty of fluid and I mean loads and loads??

Yes I have Cranberry juice for breakfast then I have Barley water/water every hour, I must admit it has eased the syptoms a little but I can still feel a slight pressure down there.

The pressure is normal in pregnancy and will get worse over the months as baby grows its just the weight on your bladder keep the drinking up its good for baby.
