1999 Grand Am rear window motor?
    Hi everyone,
I am hoping someone out there can help? My name is Candace and I am a 30yr. Old nurse, mother of a 3 yr. old boy and a husband who travels A LOT.. I pride myself in being able to do just about anything when it comes to repairs and HATE to have to PAY someone when I can figure it out for myself! PROBLEM: About a yr. ago my rt. Rear window went on my 1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE - I took it in and the guy told me it would cost $300 to fix. Told me I could probably do it myself and stuck a piece of wood to wedge the window in the up position.. I cannot remember if he said it was the motor or regulator. One year later (two days ago) my other (left) rear window went down.. My husband has been gone for 3 weeks and won't be home for another week or so and it has incapacitated me! I can't go anywhere because my window WON'T stay up! I called AutoZone and Napa and they gave me their prices.. I think I can do it myself and would like to try but after reading the other reports - I don't want to have to take off my entire door panel if I don't have to.. Does anyone have any ideas or advice in which way I should go about this project? The car again is a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE model and it is the two rear windows..
    Thanks,
    Candace Ellinor

You say the other one "went down"? By itself. Don't know if child safety was an option
In '99. Maybe safety switch, and no real problem.
Maybe didn't go down by itself, Kid? Was playing with up and down, and maybe play with other switches.
If you can get to motor, You can apply voltage directly, Leave in up position.
Now you also know motor is good. Didn't work? May be bad motor
May have CD with wiring, will look up later and update answer.
