    Roommate Issue
There are 3 of us living in an apartment. We split rent and utilities 3 ways every month. One of the girls is difficult, to put it nicely. She did not pay her rent this month. She also has been hiding all of our utility bills in her room. Her door was open one night and I saw that there were utility bills on the floor so I picked them up and looked at them. THERE WERE DUE LAST WEEK! We (the other roommate and I) talked with her last week and asked if she saw the bills yet and she said no. The bills do not come in her name either, the come in the other girls name, the one that talked to her about if she saw the bills yet or not. She has been pulling games like this since December 2006 and it is now May 2007. Every other month we have this problem. The other girl and I have pretty much moved out but still pay rent for this summer. The difficult girl has not paid her rent for this month or paid the uilities- the other girl and I did a credit card payment over the phone with each utility company. This girl will not answer the phone, her voicemailbox is full and we cannot leave her messages, she won't answer text messages, IMs or e-mail. I know we shouldn't contact her this way but we don't know what to do. Should our parents contact her parents? Her parents are lawyers. We are supposed to move out the end of July so she still owes May, June and July rent which is over $1000 plus over $50 in utlities- which we are having shut off and she can put in her name if she is living there since she is screwing up our credit.

The easy roommate and I are and the other girl was added onto it later. We had to sign papers to add her on.

The easier route may be to talk to her parents. She sounds like a young adult who hasn't learned how to handle money, yet.

At least you aren't obligated for much more that a couple months.
